The World War Hulk is a different kettle of fish. The Omnibus has 1000 pages more than the OHC which I don't have and I believe only had the main 5 issues. IMHO, the WWH Omnibus is much better value for money at $125 than the PH Omnibus at $100.
Totally agree on Tangled Web and Planet Hulk being overpriced based on page count. I'm definitely skipping Tangled Web but I'm giving myself justification on Planet Hulk by combining the value with World War Hulk. $100 for 650 pages plus $125 for 1300 pages, 50% discounted for $113 for 1950 pages and I'm in. That's my personal justification anyway, and I don't already have any of the hardcovers.

I don't own the OHC, been watching it at the Amazon Marketplace Sellers and just never pulled the trigger.
Planet Hulk will cost $50usd, week of release at IST, at 26 issues in the volume making each issue $1.92. That's way less per issue than at any LCS if one had gotten them as they came out. I feel that's a good value myself.
At full retail + tax it would still be only slightly higher than the then price but it's better than the current back issue going rate.
I just don't follow the "joke" comment, can you elaborate?

At least I have the Alpha Flight omni, but I'm waiting to read it until I reach the same period in UXM.

I can't get enough Byrne. I own every Marvel omni he contributed to.

    UXM
    FF
    Alpha Flight
    Avengers
    Marvel Universe

But Claremont's run had so many great artists like Paul Smith, Jim Lee, Mark Silvestri, Dave Cockrum, and JRJR, that UXM is the one series that I don't mind the "dropoff"...not to mention, the Cockrum stuff on the Brood is better than the earlier Cockrum stuff to me anyway. By the way, Paul Smith is coming soon in your run anyway!

Yep. I'm passing on this because I already own the OHC too.

As I said if you don't own the OHC go for it.
For someone who own the OHC the Omnibus is not really attractive because of the few extra issues.
Maybe for 50 $ I would consider it. But I don't live in the US and so I have to pay around 75-80 € which is quite much.

Thanks for the feedback. I read a few issues beyond when I posted, and Cockrum's art does seem improved from what I remembered before. I think the first time he left and Byrne came in, Byrne's art was like a revelation to me. The book just improved so much in my opinion, it's tough to see him go.

But I do appreciate Cockrum more on this return so far - his enviroments and effects look really good, as do some of his more detailed faces. I just don't really dig his body proportions sometimes, they just seem "off" to me. I definitely am on the hunt for Byrne's FF omnis though, and look forward to starting Alpha Flight.

And I'm looking forward to seeing other artists do UXM. I read a few of these issues here and there when I was a kid, mainly because of my older cousin. But I didn't start collecting X-Men until '85 or '86, right before X-Factor started. So I'm trying to catch up to that point, and I'm looking forwward to reading that, New Mutants, and Excalibur again also. Reliving good times!

The X-Men one was fun. Basically a big knock down brawl with every x-character of the time. And Charles Xavier actually being in character, which is rare for the 2000s.
    Cyclops was right

The complete estimated comic book sales figures for February 2017 are in (please note this list only details those comics sold to North American Comics Shops as reported by Diamond). I’ve listed below the Marvel OHC/Omnibus/MMW’s as well as the larger TPB collections such as the Epic, Ultimate and Complete lines that made the list, detailing the position, title and estimated sales.

    154. Oz Omnibus - 656
    157. Ultimate Comics Spider-Man Death of Spider-Man Omnibus - 650
    160. Iron Man By Kurt Busiek And Sean Chen Omnibus - 638
    161. Uncanny Avengers Omnibus - 631
    162. Fantastic Four By Matt Fraction Omnibus - 630
    167. Captain America Trial of Captain America Omnibus - 606

    188. Fantastic Four By John Byrne Omnibus Vol. 2 - 555
    194. New Avengers by Bendis Complete Collection Vol. 2 - 541
    201. Fantastic Four (Silver Age) Omnibus Vol. 3 - 519
    209. Golden Age Captain America Omnibus Vol. 1 - 509

    278. Avengers by Busiek and Perez Omnibus Vol. 1 - 356
    285. X-23 Complete Collection Vol. 1 - 345

Daredevil was firing on all four senses this month with the Daredevil Silver Age Vol. 1 Omnibus almost cracking the 2,000 mark with 1,921 units. Both Alpha Flight and War of Kings Aftermath Omnibuses had respectable results at 1,502 and 1,219, respectively.
30 Omnibuses marked for clearance charted this month, that’s five more than those clearanced back in January 2016. The Omnibus seems to be a profitable product for Marvel. We’re getting more and more of them and in particular those which we’re hoping for, and yet Marvel still has clearance sales each year. There must be a massive profit margin on the initial sales for Marvel.
Once some of these Omnibuses go OOP, their prices will shoot up. I would predict this to be the case for anything Captain America, Busiek’s Avengers, Annihilation Conquest and the Star Wars trio of Omnibuses.

The only DC Omnibus to chart this month was Green Lantern The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 1 with 611 units.
