Cyclops was right
Do you read comics in TPBs, HCs, and omnibuses - or are just not sure where to start? Check out my definitive guides to DC (including Rebirth!), Valiant Comics, and Marvel - including every X-Men and Avengers team and each Marvel Event.
You'll find definitive reading guides including every issue of every major Marvel hero and team, like Black Panther, Captain America, Captain/Ms. Marvel, Daredevil, Deadpool, Spider-Man, & and more!
#45 Captain America by Gruenwald
#44 Runaways
#43 Superior Spider-Man
#42 Punisher by Greg Rucka
#41 Black Panther by Priest
My thoughts on ones I would consider buying:
#60 What If? - Not interested in collecting the original series, I'd much prefer character focused collections, e.g. What If...!?! starring the X-Men Omnibus
#59 House of M - Too much for one Omni; just give me a final OHC collecting the remaining 3 miniseries
#57 X-Force by Kyle and Yost - Unusual for me, but I'd rather leave this as the 2 OHCs too; Messiah War fits better in a "Cable: Hope Omnibus" and that material is uncollected in OHC format
#55 X-Force Volume 3 (32-43, Cable Issues) - Instant buy for me
#52 Incredible Hercules - GOD YES! I loved this series as it came out, it was brilliant!
Rucka Punisher was high on my list. Runaways on it as well, I actually thought this would be higher on the final tally, but I would be surprised if it doesn't happen with the tv show coming up. Perhaps a bunch had this thinking and didn't want to waste a vote.
I think I'd actually buy all of these with the possible exception of Black Panther. I've never read any of it, but have heard very mixed reviews over the years.
Just 1 Omni for January?
And a 2nd Cable TPB already... I hope they end up in Omnibus format!! (maybe after a 3rs X-force Omni with Cable issues Marvel will start to release the rest of the Cable run in Omnibus starting with the Ladron volume Cable: The Hellfire Hunt )
from the rundown so far, these would be all pre-orders for me:
#59 House of M
#58 Captain Marvel by Peter David (Volume 1)
#55 X-Force Volume 3 (32-43, Cable Issues)
#53 Thor God of Thunder
#50 Ghost Rider by Howard Mackie
maybes:
#54 Conan the Barbarian
#47 Marvel Horror Anthology
#46 Killraven
Of the 20 books so far only 5 were ranked last year, and all five of them have decreased in standing - and only one of those saw any of its material solicited since the last survey.
It seems like this year is going to include a LOT of shake-ups, and it's not just from newer/younger fans voting for the fresh material we've seen thus far, because we also got the left-field Captain Marvel pick and What If? back for the first time since 2013!
