Anyone picking up the Amazing Spider-Man volume 1 ohc by Slott?

I tuned out of his run after Superior ended. Was the Amazing run any good?

I'm torn on it. IMHO Slott's ASM run is going downhill after the first 3/4ths of Superior, but at the same time I have all of the HC/OHC from Big Time on but that first OHC is a double dip with Spider-verse...ugh.

It was okay. The ANAD run has been better as long as you are cool with accepting that they've given Peter Parker all of Tony Stark's story traits.

Right? Dude was on fire for most of Superior and it all really started to peeter out around Goblin Nation.

I see what you did there.

I figured once he started dividing up with Silver Surfer, ASM suffered. SS has been very good.

That doesn't make sense; good and Dr Who don't belong in the same sentence.

Good point about Silver Surfer effecting the workload.

I seem to remember an interview in which Dan Slott was slightly lamenting the quick release pace that the Spider-Man has to keep. It's not hard to imagine his fatigue and how that effects the story.

Haven't dived into Slott's Spidey work, it's up their on my backlog for sure, but news of the Spider-verse OHC and ASM deluxe 1 overlapping makes me not want to pick up the latter.

The overlap with Spider-Verse will be in Vol 2:

    Vol 1: 1-6, 1.1-1.5, Annual 1
    Spider-Verse: 7-15, SSM 32-33
    Vol 2: 7-18, SSM 32-33

Vol 1 does overlap with Original Sin Companion (issues 4-6), however.

Black Panther, another great series, I'm so glad they are releasing this.

The Deluxe edition is a good way forward, nice packaging and you get a good chunk of story, I hope you enjoy it.

Ah thanks for the clarification. That is a hell of a double dip!
