All New Marvel Collected Editions

If this was indeed a new copy, it 100% should have come shrink wrapped. Where did you order it from? I would request a replacement.

I had ordered it from Indigo. I complained, and they sent me a sealed replacement. Can't complain too much.

I am somewhat new to collecting omnibus editions and I bought the Annihilation Omnibus for 60 bucks from IST and I really enjoy it but my enjoyment presents me with an annoyingly anomalous conundrum related to the way that Omnibus’ are released.

In that the second and fourth omnibus in the saga is out of print and the third and fifth omnibus are in print. Since they aren’t going to reprint Annihilation Conquest Omnibus for probably 1-2 years at the earliest and by that time the 3rd and 5th omnibus will be sold out... if I want to have the whole saga I need to spend $150 bucks on 2 omnibus’ that I won’t get to read until they re-release Annihilation Conquest Omnibus... because I am not going to spend 140 dollars on it out of principle.

There is a guy on eBay selling copies for 140 and he has like 350 copies sold at that price. That belies quite a significant amount of interest in the book I wish Marvel would get with it and republish Conquest and War of Kings next year.

Or maybe provide a little more transparency on when or what they do or do not intend to republish.

I have sympathy for your dilemma as I’ve run into it myself a few times. I got my copy of the Annihilation Conquest Omnibus for $90 which was an acceptable price considering what it goes for right now. I see that it sold twice for less than $80 on 12/17 according to the sold items records on eBay. Your best bet would be to create an alert for the book and look to find a deal. Eventually, I can almost guarantee you someone will list it for $100 or less. Hope that helps.

Marvel Stock Update

Happy New Year!

Since my last update, five titles have been moved to the Out of Print list. Some are still available with minimal discounts or with DM covers only and I have marked those with a *. I imagine those will be gone soon enough. The five titles are: Amazing Spider-Man by Michelinie and McFarlane Omnibus*, Captain America Omnibus Volume 2*, Star Wars Omnibus Volume 3*, X-Men Age of Apocalypse Omnibus and X-Men: Mutant Massacre Omnibus.

I would also suggest looking on your local used good sites......Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji (in Canada at least) are my go to sites. I've found some solid deals on out of print books on both.

Ultimate Spider-Man reprint is better. It was the creation of the character until the destruction of the ultimate universe with secret wars

Yes, the other one is the story after Secret Wars, happening in the 616 universe. Those two volumes include all the Miles Morales stories written by Bendis.

I like both, but in my opinion Miles was much more interesting in the Ultimate Univese, and the stories were really good.

Glad I am not the only one who thought that. For Conan, the standard cover doesn't look bad but the variants have had far more value on the secondary market so its a bit of a no-brainer. For Hulk, I think I will pass up the variant despite the higher value down the line.
