Content-wise Vol 1 and 2 are good other than the omission of #38 from volume 2 (it's placement in volume 3 is not a huge problem otherwise though) as JBatmanFan05 mentioned. The binding on Volume 1 was the very definition of a mousetrap though, and the reproduction was stretched (I believe that was a problem inherited from the Archives series? Not 100% sure.) Volume 2 was improved in that regard.

#38 is omitted from Vol 2, not Vol 1. Should have been in Vol 2, but is in Vol 3 instead. But yea, not a big problem. (irked people that wanted them in exact order as they came out originally)

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

I do wish DC would have done vol 3 properly and continued Wolfman's run without the enormous gaps in v3. Ah well. Still great stuff. Despite the holes, v3 still has some of the best stories in the series collected within.

Just got my copy of Mad Love Deluxe Edition.

Slightly disappointed with the black stock cover but its still packed full of extras like Original Layouts, Unused and Variant Covers and Original Color Guides.

Don't suppose it has the Timm/Dini stories from the Annuals and Black and White from the 'And Other Stories" printing of the book, does it?

That reminds me, a day or two ago I got an email from Amazon saying that mine's scheduled to arrive... in December! I'll have to go find out what the heck's happening there.

As for the Mad Love deluxe, as pretty as it is, I'd rather just get the paperback.

Amen. The price jumped from $17.99 to $24.99 and they just added fluff to the back of the book to bump up the price.

Its like the Marvel Miracleman HCs. Half story, half crap no one really looks at.

I've been enjoying the Miracleman HCs, regardless of the price. It's great to finally obtain high-quality, retouched copies of this run by Alan Moore (and the future releases of Gaiman).....But I have to agree on the filler toward the end. I'm usually the type who loves extras on a bluray/DVD release, or on HCs/omnis/absolutes.....But the extras on the back of the Miracleman HCs are definitely fluff I don't care to look at. Rather disappointing on that front, to be honest.
