From the beginning of the Flash 1987 series to the Mark Waid omnibus is 61 issues, 3 annuals, 2 crossover issues with Manhunter, and a DC Retroactive issue. Assuming 2 volumes, then the first volume should contain The Flash (1987) 1-29, Annuals 1-2, Manhunter 8-9,and DC Retroactive - The Flash: The 80s issue. Volume 2 would contain Flash 30-62, and Annual 3.

If DC wants to add more, then there are several Secret Origin stories covering the Flash that can be added.

The first 14 issues are by Mike Baron, and are collected in the Flash Savage Velocity HC (alongside the 4 first issues of Messner Loeb's run), so I don't know if they'll be included in the Omnibus.

    Peace

    1. Savage Velocity was a softcover TPB, not a Hardcover.
    2. The cover image for the omnibus is from Flash #1 by Baron and Guice, indicating that issue will be collected.
    3. If D are collecting from Flash (1987) #1, then there is about 71 issues of material to collect. If you omit the Savage Velocity material, then there is only around 51 issues of material. DC would be more likely to collected the post SV material in one volume as their recent omnibus volumes have had over 50 issues in them. The new omnibus is clearly volume 1, indicating at least 2 volumes.

I really don't think that DC will omit the material because a TPB came out a few years ago collecting it. DC has shown that they are quite willing to double dip when collecting in new formats.

I wonder if they will include any of the Millennium story which focuses on Wally and his father

Man, I love Tomasi, but this run for me was lackluster maybe because of the constant events that interrupted his run

Hope you are correct. I'd like 1-62 + extras all in the same format.

As much as I was unimpressed with Millennium when it came out, I would like it if they reprinted at least the mini in a trade. Weird that it has been ignored all these years while crossover issues have been reprinted all over the place.

I hope we're not getting the Charlie Brown and Lucy with the football treatment with all this DC news lately.

I wonder how/if the Nightwing and Robin compendiums will line up with the trade paperbacks form a few years ago
