How are the sandman omni's? Worth 100 a pop? :/
The story is great of course, if you like Gaiman (or read Sandman previously and liked it) it's a must buy.
The build quality is great on the first one, the second book is avarage. But both look really good on the shelf, beautiful books.
Donno where you live but here in Europe you can buy it from amazon marketplace for aprox. $90 so I think $100 is not the best deal.
Cheers, just realized who you are. Any tips for where you previously got the Announced but not solicited HC list from?
I've been waiting for it, so only have GL Rebirth which I got some time ago. I'm hoping it will be a good binding and comprehensive collection.
Wasn't it solicited with GLC 1-5? It could then lead to a GL by Johns and Tomasi Omnibus as the next volume.
Do I have to do EVERYTHING around here?? (Kidding, you're doing amazing work!). Here you go:

And if you (or anyone else) are interested, I get the list of reprints in the DC entries on this page - http://www.comiclist.com/index.php/l...endedForecast/
Yeah, I'm curious myself to see how they handle that. I'm a much bigger fan of Johns' GL, but they really start to cross over around Sinestro Corps War and both series are equally important to the whole story. That's when Green Lantern became less of a title, and more of a franchise. Hopefully DC realizes that starting with Vol. 2.
No, they're not worth $100 a pop, and from previous discussions on this thread (before they re-did everything) people complained about the build of volume 2.
If you're savvy/patient (and you live in the US), you can get Vol. 1-4 of the Absolute editions for probably just under $200. You might even be able to get all 5, although the stories in vol. 5 aren't collected in the omnibus editions and I was trying to give you an apples to apples comparison.
Well it is, so I'm guessing they are thinking about it.
Green Lantern by Geoff Johns Omnibus Vol. 1 HC
Collecting Green Lantern Rebirth #1-6, Green Lantern Corps #1-5, Green Lantern #1-25, Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Superman Prime #1, Green Lantern Corps Sinestro Special #1 and Green Lantern Secret Files 2005

Have updated second post with future releases for DC/Vertigo Hardcovers out to February 2015
Thanks for all your work NZ. I still can't get used to these new forums.
Anyway, for someone who wasn't a big fan of absolutes, just bought my third one: HUSH. Same price i paid for All-star supes and Watchmen: $35! If I keep winning at such low prices, I'm definitely not passing up these wonderful books.
A question. Do you guys sell your TPB after you get the absolute of a certain story? I don't know whether its worth it to keep them around if I'm always going to read the absolutes.
Oh right, now I remember - DC's solicitation for this is so nonsensical that I probably blocked this solicit from my mind. I assume it collects GLC: Recharge 1-5, not GLC 1-5, as the former were co-written by Johns. So you get those *completely* unrelated issues, but you don't get any of the *essential* GLC Sinestro Corps War issues or essential Tales of the Sinestro Corps (except for SP) because they weren't written by Johns. This makes this omnibus completely worthless.
Yeah a lot of people complain about the RRP but you can easily buy these books for reasonable prices, even when OOP a few years back Absolute Watchmen/Kingdom Come where available at $40-50 shipped to NZ. New Frontier and others still have a $75 RRP so its easy to assemble a few Absolutes for about double the price of their equivalent trades which imo is a bargain. I was just admiring Deviates Absolute collection in the shelf porn thread, they certainly stand out when you have a few in a row.
I sold my TPBs as I got my Absolutes, helps pay for them I don't see the point in double dipping and I'm happy to lend my mates the Absolutes providing they look after them. Though its a bit different here as TPBs hold their value more than in the States.
