There have been a handful priced at $150. Sandman, Doom Patrol, JSA vol 2, and I'm sure I'm missing a few.

The price sucks, but I'll pay it to finally be able to buy the material.

The Fourth World omnibus is about 1500 pages. About double the size of some omnibus and not double the price so it seems reasonable.

I'm really looking forward to the Fourth world Omnibus. The behemoths don't really bother me. I h ave Colossal Conan and Big Damn Sin City, as well as Invisibles and Doom Patrol and all the other big ones. They really aren't *that* bad to read...

Do you like other Kirby work? Curious if you don't like Kirby stuff or Fourth World just wasn't your jam?

The content of the Fourth World book is great, but it is a massive book. Torn if I should sell the older omni set that are just standard size and get it or just stick with the old ones.

I am in the same boat. I like those old books but the oversized art?!? The dialogue is rough. I think of it as Clockwork Orange speak. It fits the material. There’s too many great ideas in those books. Sandman, Wicked and the Divine, Miracle Man, the New Gods are everywhere. Thanos,,, watching Thor Ragnarok might be as close to a proper New Gods on screen.

His art is great (of course), his plots can be good or bad, his scripting is terrible. I would rate New Gods as the best title, and Forever People or Jimmy Olsen as the worst. Fourth World criticisms summed up in a nutshell would be hilariously stupid characters/designs, cringe-worthy dialogue (even for the time), and unfocused plots that badly needed a strong editor.

None of these criticisms are groundbreaking and it seems most Kirby fans even agree with them to an extent. They can be overlooked if you're a die-hard, but I would want younger people who aren't familiar with the material and thinking of blind-buying the omnibus to know.

I'm pretty excited about the Fourth World Omnibus and will probably pick up Kamandi when that comes out. I only know a bit of the material so I am going in a bit blind except for being a Kirby fan. Two omnibus vs one would've been nice.

I going to go full on blasphemy ... but Kirby - despite his incredible ideas - couldn’t write worth a ****. His stories are a bore to make it through.
