What does everyone think about the Superman Doomed book? Is it worth buying for just Doomed 1 & 2, since everything else will apparently be reprinted elsewhere? I'm not sure whether to get it or not.

OH WAIT. God damn you, DC.
I feel the same about Saga of the Swamp Thing, All Star Superman, V for Vendetta, Top Ten, Dark Knight Returns and all the Loeb/Sale Batman.

    God damn you, DC!

I hate his style. On a technical level he is a fantastic artist, I would never deny that, but the way he draws (and the way he is inked) and how he builds the scenes, panels etc, just irritates me to no end.
I saw some of his drawings that I liked, usually the ones that are a bit off compared to his usual works (that page in 100 bullets). But his famous works like Hush and stuff? No thank you.

Hush was really good, too, as you noted.
Agreed. Say what you will about All-Star B&R's story, but Jim Lee was at the top of his game. That Absolute is STUNNING.

I'm wondering if I can save some money and purchase a more recent printing of a Trade/HC that looks better.

Anyone have any recommendations for this?
I'm glad you are keeping it (for you). I own Kingdom Come in every edition it's been published in, and while the original hardcover is beautiful, I generally pull out only the Absolute when I want to read it now.

ASBAR looks so good! I really wish the story was better.

The thing about Machina, it seems like a great idea, but the actual story was so slow and, like, matter-of-fact, I guess. Just really dry, and Hundred didn't really accomplish much.

Also: Would you recommend Saga? I'm really interested in it.

Saga is completely different than EM. Also it's very graphic (violent and pornographic sometimes) so if you don't like that stuff don't buy it. Otherwise, YES, it's awesome.
Have you read the Escapists by BKV? 6 issue miniseries, one of my favourites from him.

Trying to get into some DC, I was wondering if anyone in the UK or the EU knew a place to get the Geoff Johns Green Lantern omnibus for a good price? I haven't see it anywhere for under £50.

Some pictures of the 1997 hardcover collection of Kingdom Come versus the Absolute, second edition. I used the 1997 hardcover because it is the same master as the current trade paperback is printed from. Sorry for the quality of the pics but I only had a ceiling fan and a iphone camera.

Speedyhen has it for £49.40, they are out of stock at the minute but i doubt they'll struggle to restock.

My amazon pre-order shipped at £48.05 I doubt it'll drop much below that unless you find it on a blowout sale somewhere

I hope this helps anyone who wonders in the differences in quality between the two.
