DC says it is upset by the Omnibus errors and they all stem from a certain period and they have doubled their efforts/staff to try to end the errors. That's all I know or will say, we shall see.

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

Not to bring up bad stuff, but the whole topic of DC cancelling any new TPBs for GL because of accusations about the one creator - any news on that front? I was really hoping for them to continue the Hal Jordan series of larger TPBs, but alas we got the one and then everything was shut down. Now, I 100% understand WHY they did that, I'm just wondering if there's been any movement on it either way. I would assume it's all dead as a doornail for the foreseeable future, as far as getting this stuff collected in new collections, but you never know, I guess... Obviously we wouldn't condone the things that he did, if it's all true, but at the same time, LOTS of people worked on those issues, not just one person, and to blackball them due to one person's modern day actions. Again, I have kids, I would never condone any of that stuff, but part of me thinks of the artists and inkers and letterers and editors and all the other folks who I'm sure are proud of their work and would like to have others read it (even if you take the royalty piece out of it).
"Boomerang arrow, Kate... It comes back to you in the end. Boomerang. Respect it." - Clint
"Why the hell do you need an arrow that comes back to you after you shoot it, Clint?" - Kate
    "Because... Boomerangs." - Clint.

There's an actual thread about this issue. I asked the same thing recently, and another poster was kind enough to post a link to some updates from Bleeding Cool; status of the accusations, trial dates and times, etc.

I'd help you out but I'm on my phone driving. A forum search for Gerard Jones should pop it up though.

Seeing how they jumped forward to Kyle Rayner's tenure starting with GL 48 I think they might plan to release of of Kyle's run (up to 181) in TPB before going back to release the earlier Jones issues

They have released some issues by Jones since his arrest (a couple of his GL issues appeared in "The Flash by Mark Waid vol 2") so it is theoretically possible for his GL/Mosaic etc issues to be released, but I guess that would depend on legal issues (for example a couple of ideas that were suggested when he was first arrested was his name not be included on the cover/spine/back cover or that any proceeds he would get from reprints be held or donated to a charity etc)

Without any knowledge of the legalities of this stuff, I think that's a great idea.

But speaking of legalities/royalties, it's probably safe to assume that these collection cancellations were the result of DC making a moral judgement call (which is indeed the moral choice) considering it's still their property and were under no obligation to provide a check to an alleged child pornographer. However, had they gone ahead with reprinting Jones' work, can they legally withhold payment and/or send the check elsewhere?

Says to who? What are they doing about the current errors?

Can we consider the laughably awful dustjacket spines of Knightfall Omnibus 1 and 2 errors requiring do-over as well?

This we can agree on. Even if they commissioned Jones for "new art" for these collections, these eyesores should have be immediately relegated to the actual cover of the book, to be covered by competent dust jackets and never be exposed to the light of day again

Sadly, only correction I know of is for the JLI Omnibus. Masterworksfansite says the InStock Trades (IST) did have the corrected second printed and one/some posters got their replacement. I think DC doesn't plan to correct Jack Kirby FW's one page error. I don't know what will happen or not with this Knightquest Omnibus error.

Of course they can't. They can't bend the law because their writer's a scumbag. If Jones' contract calls for royalties, DC has to pay up. That being said, whatever money he might earn for past work will likely end up in his victims' pockets as compensation.

Yes. Penciller Justiniano was sentenced to 10 years for possession of child pornography. It didn't prevent his work from being reprinted in the Teen Titans Omnibus, but I'm not sure about the timeline.

I'd forgotten about Justiniano. Almost positive his arrest pre-dates the release of the Johns Teen Titans Omnibus...

He also drew most of Day of Vengeance, and that's not keeping DC from releasing a new edition of the Infinite Crisis Omnibus with the same contents as the first one.

    True.

But both of these are instances where the alleged perpetrator's work is part of a much larger whole. The (presumably) canceled GL: Hal Jordan line of trades would be all Jones' work... they can't hide his name under 23 others.
