In terms of content, yes. As far as I'm concerned, it's the gold standard of what an event omnibus should be. Everything included and in chronological order, even breaking up the main series when needed. It actually gives you a greater appreciation for the whole saga seeing how well it was planned. As far as binding, it's sewn, not glued. And not a mousetrap. I just tested my copy and it opened fine. Good glossy paper stock.
Mines a total mousetrap, I've tried reading it a few times but I can't put up with it. I bought the Green Lantern Omnibus on the recommendations on here and that is so much better than Infinite Crisis binding, proves DC does know how to make a book that actually opens.
-edit-
I just got mine down off the shelf for accuracies sake and it's not as bad as a recalled, after working on it a bit it doesn't snap shut at all now. Main problem I have with the binding is that it doesn't flex at all, so you get a lot of gutter loss, but it is more readable than I remembered.

DC has known for a while how to make a good sewn Omnibus book. They've made several of them. I really can't understand why they went back to the worse binding options after producing stuff like Sleeper, Sandman and Golden Age Superman.
Now we have GL Omnibus, a monster of a book, but it opens about as well as you expect for a sewn Omnibus. I'm very happy they figured it out for their big books. But I will be pretty annoyed if they do what they did with the second Sandman Omnibus, and make the second volume a much poorer binding.
Its been so many years now, its hard to fathom how the collections people at DC(and Marvel, and some others) don't know what kind of product they are making and who is buying it. And that different books have different binding requirements.
Announced HC reprints from December to today:
INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US VOL. 2 HC (FEB140260) (2nd printing)
THE JOKER: DEATH OF THE FAMILY HC (JUN130256) (3rd printing)
THE ABSOLUTE SANDMAN VOL. 4 HC (NEW CODE JUL138412) (2nd printing)
DEATH: THE DELUXE EDITION HC (JUN120272) (3rd printing)
Miscellaneous reprints of interest: new Hellblazer TPBs geting a few reprints. Death of the Family HC just recently had a second reprint so is proving very popular. Similar story with Death Deluxe HC.
Are you speaking of them breaking up the main series, for example, between issues 6/7 or splitting up within individual issues? The reason that I ask is because I did have this but chose to sell it, and am instead collecting the individual issues to make a 2 volume custom binding. I found the Omnibus order of issues on Amazon, which is what I'm going to use, but I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't something else that I needed to worry about.
Here are some pictures. The first one shows where the book will stay open on its own, which is about page 262. The biggest issue with the book is that it's so thick you end up losing a little bit of the page to gutter loss, but it wasn't significant enough to be a huge distraction to me. And with the amount of content that's collected in the book, I think it's a worthwhile tradeoff, it's certainly one of the few books that I own that I would never consider selling or trading.
Yes, it breaks up the main series. The four lead-in mini-series each had a follow up special happening at different points during the event, and they're included where they take place chronologically. For instance, the Villains United and OMAC specials are between Infinite Crisis 6 & 7 in the omnibus. Also, Infinite Crisis Secret Files breaks up the main series at some point.
Eventually, I'm gonna do a Batman Uncollected Wishlist thread. Which is my main area of interest in collected editions. I probably will do it in the Batman section though so the Batman diehards can respond more easily.
I could go on forever about what DC needs to collect for Batman fans. They really need to do a DC Masterworks...just could call it DC Masterpiece or something. Collects all of 70s Batman. Then 80s. Batman mixed with Detective would probably be the wisest course (especially when the 80s hit and Batman and Tec crossover on arcs a lot).
I am dying to read the 70s Batman up to Millers Year One. Properly collected. No recoloring. I would prefer thick trades like Knightfall.
New Frontier Deluxe is glued, some bad gutter loss. Lots of extras. Reused intro by Paul Levits (sp)was a disappointment.
Really disappointing DC doesn't do proper intros or Forwards, or even an Afterward on these collections.
