Um, not sure what you mean by suitable. Over the years, a Waid/Flash omnibus has ranked pretty high in this thread's wish list.

Yeah, true. A couple of Byrne omnibus collections would be nice. Maybe a Johns collection in deluxe or Morrison's Action on deluxe.

I don't understand what you mean by "the suitable format". Seems like any format would work. A deluxe would be great and is what I would prefer to see.

Is there a DC Universe series of deluxe editions you can point to that collect 100+ issues?

Last year DC canceled the Batman: Shaman TPB reprint that was supposed to come out in January. They said it will be re-solicited in the future. Does anyone think they might have done that to bump it up to a Deluxe Hardcover edition? Because other than a manufacturing error that was going to cause a significant delay, I don't see why they would cancel the pre-orders.

Not sure this is helpful, but I didn't have much knowledge of New Gods when I started reading it - just Morrison's Seven Soldiers & Final Crisis, and LOSH Darkness Saga - and I didn't have much trouble diving and getting completely engrossed with the book. I think it just starts with Darkseid doing something bad/evil and Orion is fed up and ready to put an end to it.
There's a lot more to the mythology and a lot of characters that I'm learning for the first time, but it hasn't taken me out of the story and hasn't been a problem for me understanding the plot.

Exactly. I'm particularly after omnis for the Swan era and Byrne run/triangle era. Pretty surprised (and disappointed) nothing like that's on the radar, honestly.

I hope it is released as a Deluxe. That is a fantastic story.

and I was so excited about SI but with the current quality dip of DC deluxes I will buy this whenever I can get a good deal on it. Shame, since it's an awesome story.

Boy I hope so too. Forget Year One and Batman Begins, that was my Batman origin story growing up.

Yeah I'm a good few issues in now and it's easy enough to figure out where you stand with the characters.

Just in case it hasn't been said in a while, by the way, Walter Simonson really is the complete package when it comes to this medium. Great writer of plot, great writer of dialogue, great pencils, great inks, great pace, great subtlety, great BIG moments. He is an author and a master. And a nice guy to boot!

I know there Omni's and not deluxe's but both the JSA and GL by Johns Omnis must go over a 100 issues total considering the size of them.
