Oh, yeah. I was pretty hyped when TWD was gonna have it's own show, but they have slowly lost me because of the poor writing. I came to terms with the changes in events and adding certain characters because it wasn't gonna be a direct adaptation. Though some character personality changes were...weird. I actually liked the first two seasons of Arrow, though I never read his stuff, despite him being portrayed as Batman Lite. Once they started doing that Olicity BS, I dropped the show. It just became too much lol

In issue #16 Simon Baz is able to stave off a few of the third army with the help of the squirrel Green Lantern and then they fly off into space to figure out how to stop the bigger threat of all the rest of them.

Then issue #17 opens with Baz in chains, held captive by the Black Hand. A bunch of stuff is alluded to as having happened (and not in a "this is a narrative construct where we will flashback to see the events that brought us here" kind of way) but we have no idea of the details or how Baz actually got in this predicament. Also the great threat, the Third Army, is never mentioned or seen again, we have no idea if/how/why they were defeated.
So, at the minimum, GLC #16 might have made the Omni's narrative more readable and complete? Having read some reviews, that seems like there could be a fair case for that view.

Seems unrealistic to think all the GLC issues might have been included for Rise of Third Army, but if they picked and chose, and chose GLC #16, then that might have made a more complete narrative. From what little I read of GLC #16.

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

Flicking through my Golden Age Superman omni again and I'm pretty sure this is the best binding DC has ever done. It's super light as well for some strange reason considering the amount of material. It's either this or the Sleeper omni for best binding. Does anyone know if this quality has carried over to Golden Age Batman?

Yeah, the show is corny but I went into it with low expectations, so there are some good surprises. And every now and then Bruce does something or says something and you think: Damn, that's a little Batman getting to work.

As far as Barbara's mom being Harley Quinn (or like her), I'd venture to say that's not Barbara's mom. They like to blend characters and have fun with names.

The fact is, this is so far from comic continuity it's ridiculous.

Can anyone tell me if the johns flash omni's are glued? Thinking of hunting them down, but not if they're built like the Hawkman omnibus.

The first volume (which was DC's first attempt at an oversized omnibus) was glued. It's a pretty thin book, no bigger than a standard deluxe HC, so there's a fair amount of gutter loss. Each of the subsequent volumes were increasingly better.

I don't expect any omni from dc to be on marvels level lol. I don't mind glued but that hawkman omni is like a bear trap, and I'm not spending oop prices for that. Thanks for the response guys.

No word, but I think it's quite probable that it will get collected in oversized format eventually.

DC has published a catalogue for bookstores covering releases up to January next year, and there's no sign of either of them in there. Personally, I think it's a matter of when, not if, especially for an Azarello WW Omni.

The Aquaman Deluxe was cancelled and has been replaced with an Omnibus, that is currently scheduled for August 2017. The deluxe was supposed to contain up to #16, so presumably the Omni will collect the entire series, up to #25.

The first one is definitely glued, but it has about half the content we usually expect from a standard omni, so it's manageable. The third one is sewn and it's easily readable, especially when compared to the Hawkman omni. I don't have the second volume, but looking at the last three pictures here, it has the same type of binding as Hawkman (sewn signatures which are glued into the spine).

Does anyone know a good place to get Morrison's doom patrol run in tpb? I know the the new thick trades are coming out but I can't be bothered to wait with dc's slow release schedule and I already have the first trade. Amazon and eBay seem to be a bit spotty in price's with some charging upwards of £70 a trade. If not I'll just have to wait.

    Thanks in advance.
