Omnibus
Absolute
Slightly on topic, the contents of Green Lantern Silver Age Omnibus, Showcase 22-24 and GL 1-35 or Showcase 22-24 GL 1-45?
I don't think the Omnibus has had a reprint recently...
They're releasing an Absolute soon but that won't have all the tie ins...
Amazingly, the Infinite Crisis Omnibus DOES NOT HAVE a contents page (thank you DC!).
However, these are the contents in the reading order that they are presented:
COUNTDOWN TO INFINITE CRISIS Chapters 1-5
THE OMAC PROJECT Parts 1-3
SACRIFICE Parts 1-4
THE OMAC PROJECT Parts 4-6
VILLAINS UNITED Parts 1-6
LIGHTNING STRIKES TWICE Part 1-3
DAY OF VENGEANCE Parts 1-6
RANN-THANAGAR WAR Parts 1-6
CRISIS OF CONSCIENCE Parts 1-5
INFINITE CRISIS Parts 1-3
DAY OF VENGEANCE The Ninth Age Of Magic
INFINITE CRISIS SECRET FILES Heaven
INFINITE CRISIS Part 4
RANN-THANAGAR WAR Hands Of Fate
INFINITE CRISIS Parts 5-6
THE OMAC PROJECT The Lazerus Protocol
VILLAINS UNITED A Hero Dies But One
INFINITE CRISIS Part 7 FINALE
Anyone who owns this book knows that it is AWESOME!
(Raffi, Not ignoring you! I will pm you soon).
That's what I must have been thinking of!
Jesus I forgot how much preceded Infinite Crisis. Iirc, most of it was pretty sub par. When it was bad, it was bad, and when it was good, it was really good. A few were just okay, but I didn't really care too much, honestly.
the Absolute was released a few weeks ago.
I kinda wish we had an Infinite Crisis/52 Aftermath Omnibus
I just read the trade to see if the Absolute is worth it. I could follow the overall story but was left alone for the most part. What are the substories, how did they end up there, what is the green guy doing there, a giant stone over gotham explodes, natural desasters, why, what, ....what? If they wanted this Absolute to work they should have made this a bigger edition or at least put out a Countdown to Infinite Crisis Absolute (or two of them, which I would buy)! This is way to scattershot for the mildly invested in DC history. As it is: unreadable.

Or... like in this case...its bad advertisment. If they are unable to put a whole self-explanatory story in a standalone book (no part 1 or 2 or final chapter on the label and book cover, no abstracts to make you up to speed of what is shown) why should I even consider the rest. From the looks of it they are unable to transport something which makes sense. If a film in cinema shows you this, why bother for the rest of the series? It really perplexes me why they even considered to bring this out as an Absolute edition and dont give you the rest or some help to read and like the story. Really: bad advertisment!

New readers who don't know anything about the story are not the target market for $100+ Absolute editions
