I don't see why not. Lorna is still a mutant, and if her kid were to have magnetic powers, im sure he/she would still be considered a mutant. This is using 616 logic. Being a fan-made character, there could be difference.

Yes, since the mutant gene is sporadic in her family, it requires certain genetic markers including the X-gene. Whisper has those markers, giving her the ability which lay dormant in her mother, who has the potential to develop it, say thru the Terrigen mists. But for all intents and purposes her mother is a mutant also, just her latent powers never kicked in. In my head the gene which gets passed down also has a stable mutation, which is why the power is the same in each generation, just stronger.

I have two mutants twin brothers.I have been working on these two plus some others for awhile but I have no artist to bring them life.

    Name: Eric aka Chaotic
    Name: Earl aka Impact

Bio: From a young age he has been the polar opposite of his brother Earl even though when they worked together it seemed like nothing was impossible except actually getting along.Whether it was sports or just your run of the mill activities both Eric and Earl did their best to out do the other that is until their parents where killed by Sentinals. While on a family vacation heading to Miami,Florida the RV there were in was stopped by three Sentinals demanding them to surrender. As the family cautiously got it of the vehicle they were scanned and the Sentinal in front of them reported to the other two that the adult male was a potential threat and elimination was recommended. And for the first and sadly the last time they seen there mother form a energy shield in front of their dad and they seen there dad destroy the Sentinal that scanned them with an energy blast that came from his hands. Both Eric and Earl was frozen with shock at discovering that their parents had powers but as great as their parents were at taking down two Sentinals the third blasted them from behind before the could turn and face it.Seeing that her sons was in between her and the Sentinal she quickly put a shield completely around boys as their father seemingly went nuclear with his dying breathe destroying everything in a one mile radius except Eric and Earl who was spared by the shield their now dead mother put completely around them.Three years later while staying with there uncle they discovered that they were developing powers of their own and out of fear that Sentinals would come find them they made the choice to run away from the safe home that they have lived in for the past three years so that their uncle would not be killed like their parents were. But on the night they planned to run away their uncle suprised them at the back door revealing to them that he knew they now had powers but shocked them by revealing that he was also a mutant. He tells them since they are so intent on leaving Miami for safety reasons he have a house on plenty of land in Colorado where he can help them learn to control their powers.

Powers: Chaotic has the ability to absorb kinetic energy and use it to increase his natural abilities such as speed, strength, agility, stamina, endurance and durability but it is his speed agility and stamina
Impact has the same power but his strength durability and endurance increase the most but the brothers share two very unique abilities that they seemingly inherited from their parents. The first is that all of their natural abilities maxes out while they are withing a five radius of each other and the second ability is that while withing that five mile radius both of them can generate kinetic shields and blast.

I have four other characters that though not as great as Chaotic and Impact are but make the perfect role players for a team but sadly I still don't have the resources to bring them to life.

    Codename: Jet

Powers: Skin emits a chemical that, when mixed with oxygen, burns light blue. As a result, he always has the appearance of being on fire, but certain fabrics can shield his skin from oxygen enough to prevent the combustion from taking place (namely leather). He can focus this chemical secretion into small, controlled bursts, and use it like a jet to fly over short distances.

Bio: Joseph "Jet" McCoy (no relation) grew up in the inner city neighborhoods of Detroit, where he ran around with the wrong types of kids and got himself into plenty of trouble. At the age of 14, his skin burst into flames and all of his would be friends quickly showed their true colors and nearly beat him to death. Doctors weren't able to help him much due to the nature of his powers (and they certainly weren't putting much effort into a saving a mutant, anyway), but he did recover from the beating and skipped town. He eventually took up residence in Mutant Town, New York City, where he fell in with the wrong crowd again, but this time they were like him, mutants.
    I co-host a podcast about comics. Mostly it's X-Men comics of the 90's.

Some great characters here. Especially love it when characters are paragons of mutant godliness. Great job folks.

I was actually thinking it was more a bloodline trait....which sounded cooler to me. Sorry, I'm a Naruto fan....

IIRC, to be considered a mutant in the Marvel Universe the character must have an ability/power that neither parent possess. Syrin/Banshee ability to talk while using her power, Rachel Grey's ability to time skip, and Lorna's green hair and her absorption of negative emotions to super-strength are signs of mutation. Not saying its followed 100% by Marvel now.....

That's a cool power. Sort of like he sweats rocket fuel or something. Cannonball without the force field, but with the option to shoot fire at people in small explosive bursts. I like it!

Name: unknown, but answers to Bethany. Code-name - Wolfpack.

Bio: 'Bethany' has only dim memories of a human existence. A little girl with long red hair, skipping rope in a white dress with daisies in her grandmothers garden sometimes appears in her dreams. But as far as she can recall, she has spent the last few years living as an animal, or, more accurately, as a *pack of animals* in the wooded areas of [insert local city]. She can become human, and does so occasionally, but her daisy-dress is long gone, and when she transforms, the pack swirls and flows into itself to reveal a scrawny woman-child with pale skin, unnaturally bright blue eyes and long tangled red hair. In 'Wolfpack' form, her six wolf-selves all are white, grey and black mixed, with the same bright blue eyes, and long gangly limbs. They are not distinguishable, one from the other, and a scientific examination would reveal that even their retinas are identically patterned (the same as hers in human form, actually, and her 'human' eyes are very distinctive) and their blood shares identical DNA.

A member of a group of teenaged mutant girls who have only recently discovered their homes and families (or memories thereof) to be false, and banded together to forge a family and future together (and avoid the attentions of the Sinister force behind their creation, from the genetic material of other mutants, who wishes to recollect them and complete his experiment...), Bethany finds herself drawn to Sanguine, with whom she shares a mental link, having the sense that some part of herself now lives within Sanguine forever after her friend accidentally 'killed' one of her wolf-selves, and yet also because of her recognition of a fellow predator. She is conflicted, as she understands on a basic level that Sanguine is not a true predator, that the acts fill her with self-loathing, even if she cannot truly understand why, and yet she lacks the language to truly comfort her friend, or help her work through the issues at hand. She is somewhat harsh on herself about her failure in this matter, thinking of herself as a 'dumb dog,' unable to help Sanguine in the way that a 'real' friend, a human friend, could.

Powers: Unknown to anyone but Sinister, Bethany has the combined DNA of Jamie Madrox and Rahne Sinclair, which has synthesized to allow her to transform into a pack of six large powerful wolves, controlled by her single human mind. The level of coordination the 'Wolfpack' displays is unnatural, and even a foe who could individually handle one or more wolves, might find themselves overwhelmed by her clever pack tactics, with 'individual' wolves defensively taunting and setting up an opponent for vicious back attacks from those circling behind, constantly moving to keep a foe off-balance.

In human form she retains wolf-like senses (and instincts...) and more strength and stamina than one would expect for her lanky frame (although she's not truly superhumanly strong in this form, and doesn't have 'the strength of six wolves' or anything). She does however gain six times the usual healing rate, and can heal injuries that she herself, or that one of her wolf-selves, has suffered, quite quickly, with a single injury being distributed among the entire pack when she reforms. In her first encounter with Sanguine, her new best friend, the vampiric mutant teen killed one of her wolf-selves, and it took over a month, and a lot of eating and sleeping, for her to replace this missing wolf, being, for that month, only able to produce five wolves when she shifted into wolfpack-form, but otherwise suffering no lasting harm, other than a permanent mental connection to her new friend.

In either form, she also possesses the ability to communicate with and understand the communications of wolves, and, to a lesser extent, dogs, and tends to intimidate guard dogs with effortless ease.

Other members of 'Sinister's Six' include Sanguine, obviously, who combines genetic material from Gambit and Rogue, giving her the ability to generate crimson blades of energy that drain life-energy and memories from those she strikes, boosting her own strength, reaction speed, stamina and life-energies, which she used as a runaway to 'feed' on a string of unlucky would-be lovers, leaving them unconscious in their own homes, refrigerator pillaged and wallet emptied, with fuzzy incomplete memories, and feeling weak and fatigued, wondering how their 'hot date' went so terribly wrong. Given the sorts of men she picks up, she rationalizes that they are lucky they didn't wake up in a tub of ice, missing a kidney...

Name: Harold and Avery Umbrass, aka Penumbra (working title)
Bio: Early ultrasounds of Florence Umbrass revealed two tiny heart beats, but that only added to the confusion when she gave birth to the single healthy baby Harold. The mystery of the ultrasound was kept from Harold, who was happy enough playing with his imaginary friend. But his friend was all too real. Born a changeling, the twin, whom the two children had decided to call Avery, was living shadow, and came to inhabit the first shadow he experienced: that of his infant brother cast by the lights of the operating room. As they grew up, Avery realized that he could move anywhere within shadow, though he was always most at home in ones cast by his brother. Then late one afternoon on his way home from school, Harold was nearly hit by a car. He was saved by Avery, who managed to pull him into his own shadow.
His parents were naturally sceptical when he tried to relate this story, but decided to contact a place they knew dealt with such phenomena: the Xavier School. It was initially hard to confirm that the X gene was present. Harold himself was human, and Avery's consciousness had to be detected magically rather than psychically by anyone other than Harold. But he was brought in, and after training for nearly ten years the two brothers now walk between light and darkness, fighting enemies from both sides.

Powers: Harold is,,genetically speaking, not a mutant. He does however have to possess some sort of metahuman capabilities in order to interact with Avery and the Shadowworld. Avery exists purely in the Shadowworld, and can grant his twin the powers of:
-Shadow Transit: movement inside shadows, or through them to the shadowworld
-Umbrakinesis: control of shadows, hard shadow constructs, dark blasts.

    The Human Beach:

he literally has an entire beach at his disposal. he can turn into sand, water, he can recreate nautical animals sounds and smells, and his empathic abilities make people around him feel either reeeeeally relaxed and luxuriated, drunk, or excited. at omega levels, he literally can start beach parties all around the world and can teleport from ocean to ocean.

    Noir

Homeless Mutant with a passive ability that effects the visual receptors causing anyone within 100 metres to temporarily see only in black and white. Gets work sometimes as a novelty feature at theme parties.

That's a really unique concept, I like it! And, very, very rarely, it might even have some use. "Cut the red wire!" "There is no red wire! They're all black!"
