Wow this genuinely sounds like such a complex and compelling character! I love the idea of a character being torn between their religion and their love of science, and applying this to their mutation. And such an awesome power!

I created this character during an X-Jam but lost the story due to the forum reset. Here he is:
BAKUNAWA



Powers:

Upon learning of his mutation, Bakunawa found out his body is composed of darkforce and light; the amount his body is made up of depends on the lunar cycle. The more visible the moon’s surface is, the more light his body is made up of. In both forms, he can fly, alter his body’s shape, and doesn’t need to breathe. If both forms are present on his body, the area covering more body mass is more powerful.

- The portion of his body consisting of darkforce allows him to create zones of darkness, induce fear, force beams, solid darkforce constructs, increase his density, and teleport. The more darkforce covers his body, the further he can teleport.
- The portion of his body consisting of light allows him to create blinding flashes of light, holograms, force beams, solid light constructs, phasing, and super speed. The more light covers his body, the faster he can move.

If the moon is not present (outer space, another planet, etc.), Bakunawa can choose whether more light or darkforce covers his body.

Story:

The name Bakunawa comes from a dragon in Philippine mythology, known as a "moon eater". It is believed to be the cause of eclipses. Bakunawa, also known by his civilian name as Eddie Ramos, was born in the Philippines. Having lived a pretty normal life, he met the woman who would be his future wife, Nina.

On the night he would propose to her under the full moon, his powers activated. Ed got on one knee, opened the box containing the ring and it shimmered. Ed’s body started to glow, the light reflecting through the ring. It was the most beautiful sight. Ed’s family embraced his mutation, and he started playing with his powers, learning to create solid light structures, and holograms. Ed never stopped glowing as radiant as he did, that is until the lunar cycle changed.

Over time, darkforce started to cover Ed’s body, completely consuming him when a lunar eclipse occurred. The darkforce left Ed feeling fear and doubt, causing him to lose control of his powers. This resulted in darkforce plunging everything in a 2 mile radius in darkness. No one could function as the darkness caused those same feelings in everyone around him. It was there he learned he could teleport and found himself in space. There, he forced some light to return to his body, taking away those negative emotions. Ed knew he couldn’t return home yet, knowing he caused as much trouble as he did with his powers. From there, he would try and learn to master his powers and one day return to Nina and his family.

Real Name: Vivian Brightstar



Powers: Stargazer has a secondary skin made up of cosmic energy, resulting in it resembling outer space. With that, Stargazer can reshape the lights in that area of skin into constellations, granting her a new power, depending on what the constellation is. Stargazer can shrink the cosmic area to take on a more human appearance or expand the cosmic area on her skin to make room for bigger constellation shapes if she needs to. Stargazer can only do one constellation at a time, as doing more than one causes strain.

Name: Jung Kang(Weapon XVI)

Bio: Jung Kang was a 12 year old North Korean mutant that was captured by John Sublime in order to produce Anti mutant weapons made out of X-Matter. After many painful experiments John Sublime realized that he only needed his brain to produce X-Matter so he destroyed his body, and saved only his brain. Unknown to Sublime Jung Kang has a psionic connection with his X-Matter and was fully aware of everything that was happening to him, so through this psionic connection he was able to take control of his X-Matter and kill Sublime. After killing Sublime Kang used his powers to destroy his own brain thinking it would kill him, but even with the destruction of his brain he doesn't die, so now he wanders the world trying to find a way to kill himself.

Power: To create and control a unknown black organic matter called X-Matter. With his X-Matter he is able to produce many different forms of energy, and is able to create organic autonomous beings which includes a copy of organs, his own body, or other people. There is a psionic network between his X-Matter creations allowing him control over them and to be able to regenerate their X-Matter if they are damaged.

REAL NAME: X'ian Lu

BIO: Hailing from the mythical city of K'un L'un, X'ian Lu was born with a rare skin condition where the marks all over his body resembled tattoos or hieroglyphics. As a result of his freakish appearance, X'ian was an outcast in the City of Immortals and was eventually exiled by Yu-Ti for being a bad omen. In the prophecy of Immortals, their foretold of an evil that would bear the mark of demons over his body. X'ian was said to be cursed and was thus banished to dwell outside of the city limits. While wandering in the Himalayas, X'ian encountered a wolfpack who attempted to attack him. It was during this moment his latent mutant powers manifested. X'ian discovered that his powers came from his skin condition as he projected the markings on his body to the wolves whose fur started to boil. As the wolves yelped and ran for cover, X'ian continued on his way. He eventually settled in Nepal where he was further shunned and ostracized until he was located by Cerebro and joined the X-Men.

POWERS: Graffitti has the mutant power to project the markings that cover his body onto his opponents causing their skin to boil and for them to feel a burning sensation. Aside from making his targets' skin boil, he can also drive them insane, inflict mental damage and cause hallucinations. Graffitti can use power to blend in with surroundings such as walls or trees. Graffitti can also create constructs from his markings but doing this feat causes him to lose energy quickly. He can also use his ink self to take control over opponents and cause objects to melt, rust or lose momentum. If Graffitti is separated from his ink self for longer period time he will grown weak and die.

Bio: As a young child, he was pampered into believing everyone served him. But one day, when his mother and father were crushed by a falling tower, his mutant powers kicked in and he grew 6 extra limbs to lift up the tower to save his mum and dad, but he was too late, his parents were dead. He went into a wild rampage, killing everyone on the site, and in the process, found out that... he liked killing. He went on to become a universe-renowned mercenary, using his power to his advantage and was also the best sword fighter in the galaxy. If that wasn't enough, his fame soon caught the attention of Eternity. Eternity was so impressed by him, he hired Finn to become his right-hand-mutant. But soon Finn realised he didn't like it. He wanted to be free. So he stole the suit and double daggers Eternity gifted him and ran away, eventually landing on a space pod, so he lived there for the rest of his career and is still doing so. He only accepts IOU's for payment. He often partners up with the X-Force, but mostly is a lone wolf.

Powers:Bio-molecular Alteration. This means he can alter and change his, and other living beings anatomy our bio-
molecular structure. This includes: Altering appearance, growing limbs, Size alteration, Ability to Alter other
mutants and himself's power, Transmutation, and many other minor things.

How his power works: a deformity in his DNA made his body produce a sort-of nano-cell, which can fly and replace DNA strands, also has the ability to change bio-molecular structure.

Sorry for my sad English

Julian Hernandez is a latin medic from Argnetina. He is liveng in New York and ocassionaly trains and runs in central park where he befriends Johnny Storm, who he frecuently meets while
running. In one ocastion Johnny is attacked by Annihilus, wakening Julian Psychic powers. Annihilus takes Johnny to the Negative Zone and somehow uses he recently discovered telepathic abilities to read Annihilus mind. He runs to the Fantastic Four to tells them Johnny whereabout and Reed use his telepathic powers as a bacon for Johnny location. Joining the fantastic four as a temporary member, he check on his boyfriend before leaving with the team.

When they return, Julian goes back to his boyfriend who turns out to be one of Jamie Madrrox dupes. When Jammie Prime appears to collect his dupe, Julian ends devastated about loosing his boyfriend. He ends up joining X-Factor with the false hope to get his boyfrind back. He befriends Siryn, but when she becames pregnant of Jammie, Julian leaves X-Factor to join the X-men, hopping to get to know his powers a bit more.

He ends up in Jean Grey School where Rachel Grey trains him in the use of his powers. After the events of X-men vs Avengers, Julian realize that he never found his place among the X-men and leaves to get his old life back.

REclutanty, Julian accepts Beast offer to became a member of the Secret Avengers. Hank hope to use Julian habilities to get the team comunicated and under the radar. That was until Galactus attacks earth once more. Julian respond the avengers call to actión and dies in the battle. For his bravery, Thor take his to valhala where he is trained in the warrior ways. Since then Julian usually manifest his telekinetic powers in the form of an armor or weapons.

He eventually come back to life as a warrior and a tought attitude. He stays in Shield acting as a liason between shield and the mutants.

After the X-men dissapearence in the Age of X-man, Julian, going by the name of Apolo, respond the call of Scott, who is recruiting former X-men after beleiving most of his members died battling X-man.

As of Dawn of X, Julian dicides to star in krakoa claiming that, besides his history, he belongs with the mutans. He stay on Krakoa and starts a relationship with Iceman. Not trusting the villains arriving Krakoa, Julian uses his telephatic powers to keep them in check. If they thing of doing something wrong, he will call them out. The quiet council call him of, believing he is ignoring the porpuse of Krakoa, but Emma Frost says he is in the right direction.

Under the radar, he forms a little team of former X-men and star a X-Corp lineup to keep the villains in line. Husk, Kid Cable, X-23 and Penace join his cause. Iceman make a promise to keep his X-Corp secret but they grew appart, leading to their actual break up. Iceman departures with the Marauders and start a relationship with Christian Frost.

Mutant powers:by simple touch Virage can disturb and re-arrange mutant x genes, changing permanently mutants power set, the result is completely random, a short touch result in a slight change in powers, while a long touch can result in an entirely different powers set, for the mutant touched by Virage the result is disturbing and he or she will need time to get used of their new powers and how they work. Multiple touch over a period of time on the same mutant make theirs x-gen and each new powers set more and more unstable.

HISTORY: Virage has been offering her services( at very hight fees) to rich Mutants who were unsatisfied with their powers, each of them knowing that the results could be better or worse powers, but ready to take the risk...
Looking for Rich mutants maybe interested by her talents, Virage travelled to Genosha to meet Emma Frost ( she was a teacher there after she left generation X) they had a short talk but Emma straight away refused Virage offer, just before they parted, Virage briefly touched Emma's hand, Emma pulled away worried of what Virage might have done to her powers... but nothing happened and Emma though nothing more of it.... until a few days later, when Genosha was destroyed by the wild sentinels sent by Cassandra Nova, and Emma emerged from the ruins with a brand new mutation, a diamond form!
Emma realised it was due to Virage's touch but kept it a secret (pretending it was a second mutation) Knowing Virage could be a precious asset she might need later.

Bio: Tasha comes from a long line of Civil Rights activist and politicians. She graduated from Spelman College with a BA in Black Studies/Anthropology and then Howard University Law school with a JD. She then settled in DC to work as legal analyst for a nonprofit organization. During a protest rally centered on women's right,her abilities were activated when she protected an older protester from a counter protester. Her ability manifestation put her on the radar of Shield and Professor X. Nick Fury and Charles struck a deal where she would be mutant liaison to shield as she advocated for herself letting both Fury and Xavier know that she was not to be used a pawn in their power struggle and she wanted to use her new found abilities to help anyone who needed her.

Power: Organic/Inorganic Matter manipulation. Latasha has the ability to manipulate both organic and inorganic matter. However, her manipulation of organic matter is limited to her own body and her manipulation of inorganic matter is only be able to be done external to herself which means these abilities work better the farther she is from a target or inorganic materials.

Organic: Can heal herself with some concentration, can make saliva poisonous ( kiss as sedative or paralytic poison), can increase the density of skin, has increased lung capacity to stay underwater longer, has increased the density of muscle fibers to increase strength and explosive power. Some of these manipulations have been voluntary and others times it has been involuntary.
Inorganic: manipulated plastics to make shields and offensive whips, spears, and shards during battle, have destabilized building by manipulating concrete and steel, have collected co2 and other inorganic gases to glide or break fall, have limited been able to use these to fly, Has an affinity for the manipulation of water in all phases

Power : Make temporary copies of himself by hijacking the bodies of anyone in his vicinity.That person no matter their sex or age transform into identical copies of Ditto but also keep the original powers they had before the hijacking.They also are completely under the control of ditto so much so when he released them from his 'hijack' they have no memory of anything that happened after they were 'copied'..In effect an improved version of Madrox allowing for clones to have unique powers.

Ditto is powerful enough to hijack anyone indefinitely if he chooses one of his hijack victim as his new prime body,if for example he hijacked Wolverine ,he would be immortal,but he doesn't do it out of moral principle and so maintains his real form as his prime, having only the base power of copying

Weaknesses
1.his hijacked clone copy keeps the power of the initial mutant but also the respective weakness
2.While he can clone up to 40 regular humans ,he usually clones up to 8 mutants at a time,whether that is his upper limit is unknown.
