You might as well avoid any minority lead book. As we saw when Devil Dino got announced just having a black friend is an agenda to many.

Plus marriage equality is already the law in the US, nothing can change that now. It's not a political issue any more.
It is still a political issue we had someone go to jail for not marrying a gay couple.

And we still haven't touched insurance, wills, adoption and other topics that involve marriage.

She Hulk & Daredevil would have a field day on those topics alone.

Wow... this thread has hit politics, race, sexuality, and now religion.

I'm acutally impressed the conversation has been as civil as it's been considered we're covering pretty much every hot topic known to man.

I have always had a soft spot for D-man. I wish someone would dust off John Walker for this book. Walker would be a great addition to this book and Sam's team with his opposing viewpoint.
I'd prefer Eli Bradley be added instead

Yeah, Walker would actually be fun. Aside from offering a different political perspective (which I agree would be interesting), I think he potentially adds a nice bit of humor too when he's used properly.

I'd like it if Spencer used all the Dark Avengers. I'm a fan of them and they're all pretty up his alley.

But I don't really remember where Sam and John would have left off.

Just the same, I don't think there's a point to the constant thread drifting. This comic did touch two "hot topics", but there's no real point to going far out of the scope presented.

I'm sure the original people who existed before Christopher Columbus claimed to "discover" America eventually grew to feel the same way about the group of immigrants who arrived on their shores.

Doing an espionnage thriller about a post Cold War world with Soviet assassins against american spies made it very politic.
A different approach but it makes equal sense with a character called Captain America.

I don't really get why any hardcore conservatives are identifying with the Serpents here. Unless they want to murder illegals then why are they so offended that Cap wants to stop radicals from doing just that?? Sure the villains of this issue share the very same beliefs as many everyday conservatives in the US do; but what made the serpents bad guys was that they went a step beyond their conservative immigration stance.

Seriously, no matter what your political opinion is, aren't we all against murdering anyone for any (unjustifiable) reason? Then issue resolved.

If anyone was outraged by this fantastic issue, they read it wrong (or in the case of Fox and Friends, didn't read it at all).

I'm definitely sticking with this book, even though I didn't love the last run (but the Infinite comics were better, imo).

But 50% of Americans don't kill illegal immigrants in the desert; not even 1% do.

And lets be real here. No Liberals support illegal immigration either. But LEGAL immigration is virtually non-existent unless you have the resources that these families that are crossing the border in search of a better life do not have.

For example: I, as a socially liberal (but economically conservative) person, would like to see the border strengthened (not a wall) and all illegal immigrants who've been involved in serious crime deported. But I think 9 out of 10 are honest, hardworking people who want to be American because that's the one thing they want out of life (and something many Americans take for granted and think we're the only ones entitled to) and should be rewarded with citizenship for the betterment of their family and livelihood (and pay taxes like the rest of us, as well as a citizenship fee -obviously). So equating liberalism on social issues to being 100% in favor of illegals crossing the border (and not paying taxes, committing crimes, etc) is just as ludicrous as saying Captain America's villains are representing YOUR views.

This entire non-issue has been greatly overblown.

I just got this on a whim at the comic shop yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I am not gonna pull it but enjoyed it. Still believe they need to let Sam be the best Falcon there in instead of a shared hero name. He is a great character with a good support cast, let Falcon be Falcon and tackle these hot spot issues. I like he states his opinion and takes the flack. He did not have to argue as he knew his views were his views and others did not like them.

I think ultimately that is the plan.

Him being Cap for a bit is just a sort of bait and switch tactice to get him a bit more spotlight and hopefully win over a few more fans so that when he goes back to being Falcon he'll hopefully have a large fan base along for the ride.

I suppose it could be argued that Captain America appearing at a marriage equality march is partisan, but since it is partisanship in favour of US federal law, it is hardly a controversial stance for someone who calls himself Captain America to take. Did you expect him to stand against both the law and the tide of public opinion?
Look, I don't care how Disney destroys these properties, they won't be getting my dollars, and that's good enough for me.
