Bad guys wants to kill innocents. Sam stops them.

Thats just superhero comics. Anything that sounds like an agenda is from you projecting your views onto the book.

Sam as Barrack? I didn't see that at all. I think there's a lot projection going on here.
That last panel makes me question how light Spencer is going to handle Steve. But fingers crossed we get a more sympathatic potrayal of the character than we've gotten in some books... even though obviously it's Sams book and getting his perspective across well should be the top priority.

I don't think the last page would have the same effect if Steve gingerly waved from the Hellicarrier lol, but I get the trepidation. I'm with you though, I want a fair representation to both. A difference of opinion they don't see eye to eye on but doesn't pit them at each others throats like they weren't practically brothers just a few months ago.

If you're creating a derivative of an existing character but still using the same name and inconography you can still get sued.

If I created and began publishing a new Captain America tomorrow named Jack Ferguson and gave him a different costume I'd still get my ass brought into court for copyright violation.

Honestly I don't think even think conflict with Sam is a bad idea at all... I think Sam sort of needed this to break out of Steve's shadow. I think Sam establishing himself as a different sort of Captain America is important.

I just don't like the timing. It's coming RIGHT after the whole Time Runs Out thing. But we'll see... maybe Spencer will be cool about the whole thing.

This is my concern too... I really can't stand to read another superhero beef, especially between Steve and Sam. Probably going to make or break the book for me.
The two will definitely bump heads for the next couple of issues but I don't see it being the new status quo.

I'd personally like Steve's issues to be resolved with Sam (and Tony for that matter) during if not before Standoff if that's supposed to be celebrating Steves anniversary.

Hahaha. Only if we can get a YouTube compilation of Zemo saying "Wakanda" over and over again.

Joking aside, there actually is a bit of dirt Jameson could dig up on the new Captain America if the story ever wanted to go there.

A black guy from Harlem isn't a Republican? What! I definitely thought he'd go for the party that intentionally tries to fuck over the poor for their corporate buddies for sure!

Got to read this because off the buy one get on free marvel sale comixology is having now. Definitely like the book, but I don't think I'll stick with it monthly. With the spring event and Steve vs Sam being the first arc, I'm in no rush to read this. Thought I'll probably break and get the second issue any lol.

So do you long for the good old days when Captain America brought down the corrupt Republican president in the 70's? Or maybe the time the Conservative Captain America substitute fought vigilantes killing illegal immigrants from the 90's?

Yeah, Nixon being head of the Secret Empire was pretty out there. I think Steve actually battled a Reptilian Reagan too back in the day.

Steve seems to have his fair share of trouble with Republican Presidents for some reason.

And so the last time this Democratic president campaigned for an initiative to get more blacks into the workplace was when? He's been in office for 7 years now, and found many creative ways to force his will to become law through executive orders. Surely it's come to his attention that the unemployment rate among blacks is double the national average. So I'm sure I must just be missing that major campaign of his to get more of them off of the unemployment rolls and into the workforce.

The reason is because most creators tend to be Democrats, and a lot of the newer crowd cross into progressivism/socialism in their beliefs.

Like I said earlier, I expect Sam or someone else to murder the next Republican president if we have one within six months of his inauguration for "the greater good". Unfortunately some creators use these characters to act out their personal fantasies rather than tell a good story. A Republican winning the next election will likely make many of these writers snap and we'll see President Rubio or Cruz or whoever die in all sorts of unpleasant ways, not to mention Republicans in general.
