My take away message from the current WW creative direction is this: DC editorial thinks that if the art is not the quasi-realistic color sapped DC house style and that if the story beats and overall characterization don't attempt to mimic The Dark Knight Rises, nobody will take this book seriously. That makes me sad!

The last time anybody took this book seriously was when Cliff Chiang was doing the complete opposite of that with the art.

Pretty much. I dropped the series around issue 43. Reading it was a chore for me at that point. Also, the design is so complicated that no other artist can keep a consistent depiction of the costume. I want to meet the people who saw David Finch's design and all thought it actually looked modern and cool... *shakes head*

Actually, I dropped the series in the Azz run. Took awhile, I think till issue 26, but I had enough. Only buying the digital '77 Wonder Woman and maybe the new one coming out soon with the more traditional origin.

Diana's first line screams of the 70s but other than that, I think she's written pretty well here. She goes out of her way to implore Aegeus not to result to violence. The pacing of this story is a little slow for my taste and I wish the new costume was scrapped already. Thankfully, those awful bracelet blades haven't been used in-story.
