While I personally would love to see the wretched 2nd amendment appealed, simple background checks and psychological tests would be a damn fine start, and that's pretty much the direction most attempts at gun control legislation is aimed at. I don't see how that Fox-esque rightwing fear mongering article about mass confiscation of arms is the slightest relevant to that end.

Exactly. If these loons are crazy enough to think they stand a chance against the largest military in the world, they've proven themselves too mentally unstable to be allowed to own firearms.

And if the government wanted to be kind and keep destruction to bare minimum, they could simply send in the Green Berets, Delta Force, Navy Seals and Army Rangers and still kick all kinds of militia ass without so much as breaking a sweat.
