I am simply going to point out that dictating what someone does or does not wear on her head by force or fear is far closer to Saudi/Taliban/Al Qaeda/Daesh practice than anything resembling the principles of religious freedom, personal liberty, etc. that the United States hold so dear.

Furthermore, while it is possible someone is strong-arming a hijabi into her garb; it is also possible that a woman wearing dowdy-but-distinctly Western clothes, provocative attire, etc. is similarly coerced. Shall we "liberate" them as well?

That's just messed up! That's why I only put positive bumper stickers like Coexist & Tolerance on the back of my truck. Though I admit, I am sorely tempted to get a "F*ck Trump" bumper sticker.

Some people like to flaunt their crass ignorance with T-shirts and bumper stickers. We can't usually do much about it, but hopefully one day this trend will die out on its' own.

I have a sticker with the quote from Michelle Obama, about 'when they go low we go high' on the visible section of my dashboard in my car. It actually makes me feel a little better.

Here's a familiar face, Crazy/Stupid Republican of the Day Alumni U.S. Representative Ryan Zinke of Montana may be getting a new job. Donald Trump is said to offering him Secretary of Interior!

So who is Ryan Zinke? Well, let WBE's three yearly updates tell you all you need to know:
    2014 2015 2016

The insanity goes on and on and on. Too bad WBE updated his profile a little less than a week ago. This would have been nice for it.

Stuff there written by Muslim women on the hijab and what it means to them, both from those who wear it and those who don't. I think we should, instead, let them speak with their own voices.

Really enjoyed the link. I read every single article on the three pages (some had nothing to do with the hijab-choice, such as the article on hijab porn) and many of the included links. The only thing I was disappointed in was that they all live in democracies (the biggest difference was the British journalist living in Algeria- I had to look up their form of govt.), so all of them have had some 'choice' of wearing the hijab. How they each came to their choice was illuminating and mirrored many of the same stories that my Jewish friends have used for their head-covering choices. The shared human experience of prejudice that is outweighed by the internal pressures of our respected religions and communities is amazing.

Don't refer to other posters as assholes, or, as to paraphrase the Simpsons, that's a-banning.

The founder of the website, Laila Alawa, is an amazing lady who has had to endure a huge amount of cyber-terrorism and bullying, ever since tabloid website the Daily Caller decided to exploit her to promulgate fear of Muslims.

Woman tries to explain why she voted to have her own desperately-needed health insurance repealed. Worth a read because the thought process is quite fascinating. The upshot is she didn't think it through. I think there's a portion of Trump voters who are low information like this. They know his persona as s successful businessman and they were reached by the decades long messaging that Hillary was an evil bitch so why not vote for Trump? Not much thought went into the impact on their lives.

It always astonishes me how the lower income folks who vote for Republicans don't get that they are more often than not voting against their own self interests.

They listen to Trump bloviate at his rallies and don't realize they're falling for the pitch of a con man. BTW, I was channel surfing and Fox was broadcasting the latest one live. So he has time from these ego stroking events but no time for his briefings. How indicative of his priorities this is.

I think it was CNN that was interviewing some of them queued up in the cold hours before his arrival. They were asked about the possibility of Russian hacking effecting the election. Again, they showed that they are low information types and will only listen to what the short-fingered vulgarian preaches. They expressed doubt about the CIA's findings and thought that they were doing it for political reasons. Of course, that's why they revealed this AFTER the election instead of before, like Comey and the FBI did.
