I should also add, I think he's working really hard to move up in WBE's queue.

We're in a long stretch of sitting Congressman, Senators, and governors that need updates. The brand spanking new ones are going to start coming at a slower pace. I'm somewhat relieved by that, but at the same time, these idjits keep popping up faster than they get voted out of office, impeached, or shuffle off the mortal coil.

I know, I know. I'm just sayin' Hester is one of those guys who's really just sort of jealous he hasn't made the page yet and he really wants to, you know?

I mean, he has to stand out somehow. How can he cmpete with a guy like Gordon Klingenschmidt? ;(

This nearly happened to me years ago....back in mid 2000's. Of course it wasn't over a fundraiser. It was basically about 2 brothers who were cops , handing out insane amounts of speeding tickets through a small town. I was driving the speed limit behind a coal truck when I was pulled over. The cop demanded to know why I was speeding and I said calmly , "Sir , the coal truck in front of me was going faster ...I was behind it."

This didn't satisfy him and he soon gave me a ticket and told me my license was suspended. I told him it wasn't. I make sure never to do anything to screw up my driving license since I need it for my job/ He however demanded that I take the tickets and oh I was getting towed . My friend had to drive my vehicle but I was towed to a place where the woman demanded I pay the tow bill or I could walk home.

My friend had the extra $20 I needed to pay then (I paid him back) and we drove home. I went and saw my lawyer who pretty much told me it was a sad extortion scheme that the local cops had with the tow company. No way should a tow truck be called that quick and not with my friend who could drive my vehicle. But to pay him to travel there and fight a speeding ticket and another one with suspended drivers license would cost more than paying the 1 ticket. And even then it was gonna be a case of "Their word vs mine..."

It sucked for sure. I had to pay the one ticket for speeding once I faxed proof I had my drivers license then. As a nice little karma payback in a way , this cop had been hired after his questionable tickets before from another city. He made the mistake of pulling over someone who actually was higher on the totem pole in the state government with his deal. They started an investigation and busted his ass. It was revealed the little town went from a small amount of tickets in a 6 month span to suddenly 3x that amount that same span he was hired. He was fired with some others for this.



Edit....i'm half asleep...I meant to post...busted their asses. It was 2 brothers running this scheme. Also as more payback I believe both never got jobs again since this was the 2nd strike and pulling over some dude who works for the state ended whatever law enforcement career they had. Someone told me 2-3 years ago that they were working as either campus security or store security guards.

But remember folks, if you don't break the law, you'll never, ever get any kind of hassle from the police.

Exactly one year ago, we had our original profile on Tim Walberg, the U.S. House Representative for Michigan’s 7th District, and also a wacky pastor whose political resume includes calling for the impeachment of President Obama over his birth certificate, making comparisons between Democrats and Joseph Stalin over birth control coverage in the Affordable Care Act, has declared gay marriage as something that puts all of society at risk, has spoken on behalf of the Almighty itself on abortion, and claimed that Americans are in a moral crisis where they are slaves to football and pornography. Amongst other rants.

So what's he been up to of late in his House votes?

• July 10th, 2014: Walberg votes for House Amendment 1040 to prevent the implementation of the dreaded United Nations Agenda 21 Treaty, that in spite of just being recommended climate change guidelines, have many conspiracy theorists within the extreme right convinced it’s a plot for global domination.
• On January 22nd, 2015, an anti-abortion bill, HR 7, was moving through the House, and was halted because even some members of the GOP were put off by the language in the bill regarding its definition of rape. Walberg, however, had no problem with that, and voted for it anyway.
• On February 3rd, 2015, Rep. Walberg votes for the latest Republican attempt at repealing the Affordable Care Act. This in spite of the fact that the law is not just working, but better than experts predicted.
• On March 3rd, 2015, Walberg votes against funding the Department of Homeland Security as part of a Republican protest of President Obama’s executive orders on immigration.
• On May 13th, 2015, Rep. Walberg co-sponsors and votes for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would have created a 20-week ban on abortion, nationally, if it passed.

Tim Walberg won re-election to his U.S. House seat in 2014, winning 53% of the vote in his race against Pam Byrnes in his very gerrymandered district. It will be interesting to see if he fares as well in what could be a historic presidential election next year.

Regarding Donald Trump's mass deportation fantasy of illegal immigrants, I read in my local fishwrap this morning that the conservative American Action Forum estimated it would take 20 years and about $500 billion dollars to evict those 11 million or so people. I'd love to see how the so-called party of fiscal responsibility could sell that abominable bill of goods to the American public if it ever became reality.
