The most disturbing thing is that this man is on paid leave.
Honestly what was briefly happening shouldn't even be called rioting. It should be called an uprising.
Anyways, so this shooting. isn't the only screwed up things that have happened lately:

Just..what the hell? The fact that the judge didn't whip his gavel at this womans face shows the guy has a lot of self control. Well, she wasn't there in person, but the fact he didn't whip it at the screen with her face on it..

People are awful, and the rest of us who aren't awful are getting sick and tired of it and are now shining a light on it
You call us (Im black) animals, but you gun us down knowing you can get away with it
hell no animal is that cruel
I'm starting to hear reports that the governor is deploying state police and requesting federal authorities, both for the purpose of relieving the local police of their duties in this matter.
Edit: Here's a link: http://www.thewire.com/national/2014...rguson/376072/
Meanwhile, the local chapter of the KKK is raising money for the police officer who started all this: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/08/1...ed-black-thug/
I imagine the guy in charge of PR for the Ferguson city government reading this and crying softly to himself.

There is just something in the last few years that has caused some huge shift in police behavior. I realize we've always had corrupt cops, but we really are hearing about these things more and more. True, social media helps shine a lot on it more then in the past, but we've had social media for a decent amount of time now..but it still seems like only in the last 1-2 years have you really begun to hear about more and more.
It's not just racism and murder, it's all around general craziness. There is a minor issue that happened not too long ago..two women are pulled over and a cop decides they should be cavity searched(for no legit reason). Now, this was a male cop..so they had to put a call in to a female cop to come do this. The problem is the cavity search on one woman is caught on video and..the police officer is not wearing gloves when she cavity searches the woman. Not only that, but she cavity searched the womans ass before moving on to the front before sticking the same fingers in the womans vagina. Which..you know how you aren't supposed to do that..given all the bacteria..it's a minor issue, but still part of this growing trend.
Or you have the recent cop that "jokingly" acted like he was going to rob a gas station. As in..dude pulled his friggin gun on the cashier..but then said he was just messing around. Oh and the cop was drunk and was not even in his police uniform..but he did come in wearing a bullet proof vest. Though I will say the cop was fired for that..but he still received no penalty other then losing his job.

And it can't be stated enough...The police are the ones approaching the protesters.
The press conference the other day was complete BS. They claimed the attacks by the police wouldn't happen as long as protesting remained "peaceful" yet they showed up in huge numbers hours after the murder, and had riot gear well before any property had been damaged.
I'm also baffled by anyone being shocked by this type of thing as this is what has historically happened to black communities in America. They might have different tools but the same show of force by the police has been happening for hundreds of years.
new tools, same old ****
No it hasn't and no you're not.
This has been happening throughout this nations history. African Americans have been speaking out about this throughout this countries history. It's in our literature, our music, and our films. It's not that people haven't been hearing about it, it's that a lot of people refused to listen and assumed black people were lying or over exaggerating.
The only thing that has changed between 70 years ago and now is that everybody has camera phones. Because apparently the word of millions of black people hasn't been good enough, people needed audio and video footage....and sometimes even that apparently isn't enough.
