Except remember how Travon snuck up on poor Georgie out of the shadows like "You're gonna die tonight, motherfucker", wrestled him to the ground, and pounded his head against the pavement forcing the use deadly force. He was violent and out of control, afterall, it had to be done.
It's our latest reminder of what a crock the statement "Nuh uh. Both parties are just as bad," actually is...
It’s Your Crazy/Stupid Republican of the Day!
(And please, for those who those who really felt the "Both Parties are Just as Bad" statement is defensible, remember, I'm still challenging you to write your own essays each day, to keep pace with me, if it's actually "just as bad". Keep in mind, you have to pick someone from politics who has either ran for, held office within the past 5 years, and have multiple verifiable news sources to any quotes/beliefs they might have to build a solid, established track record of stupid that clearly isn't a fluke. Hell, we'll even accept people who help write party platforms within that time frame. Current crazy/stupid scoreboard, is now 43-0, since this was established on 7-18-14)
Tim Walberg
Tim Walberg is the kind of social conservative who watches the movie Footloose and roots for the preacher who wants to ban dancing. His education was through the forestry service, and he eventually abandoned that because it was too taxing, instead choosing to become a pastor (you know where this is going). He won office in Michigan’s 7th Distict in 2006 in a traditionally Republican district, in spite of the fact that his campaign’s volunteer coordinator was arrested and plead guilty on child abuse charges. Remarkably, Walberg, a “family values” Republican, knew about the abuse and kept that staffer on his payroll for six weeks after learning about it. Now, how does one survive such an embarrassing scandal? Well, you have to hope that people find out right before election day, so many have already sent in their votes by mail and can’t change them… and also, it helps when you can outspend your opponent with $1.2 million to their $46,000. That helped him still win with 49% of the vote to Sharon Reiner’s 46%.
In 2008, though, the Democrats opened up their wallets to send Mark Schauer to Congress instead, winning 48% to 46%. Schauer and Walberg combined to spend $3.5 million in that race, that sent Walberg back to Battle Creek to lick his wounds. That is, until the 2010 Tea Party Wave election, when he got voted right back in, and then once he got back to Congress, had the good fortune through census redistricting to tweak Michigan’s 7th just enough to make it even more safely red for himself and win re-election one more time in 2012.
But enough about elections. Let’s start the psych profile!
- On his voting record… Tim Walberg has sponsored a bill for prayers at school board meetings, opposed non-theistic chaplains, opposed overturning Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, sponsored a marriage act to redefine marriage as one man and one woman, and opposed a bill to teach young people the truth about sexual disease and prevention. He also fought to eliminate contraception coverage from the ACA, of course.
- Part of how Walberg weakened his chances of winning Michigan’s 7th in the 2008 election was the fact that while discussing the current situation in Iraq during a radio interview, he deemed it, “Safer than Detroit.” His district is 40 miles outside Detroit… so… yeah, they were less than thrilled about that potshot.
- In September 2010, Tim Walberg staked out a claim as a Birther, saying “He really didn’t know if the president was born in the United States”.
- A month later, in October of 2010, Rep. Walberg went out further on the Birther limb, saying that the issue was enough that it should result in the impeachment of President Obama, making him one of the earliest Republicans to bring up that topic.
- In his 2010 victory speech, Walberg was already saying that he would call for a government shutdown if President Obama did not follow his mandate. Please note, that after he voted for the 2013 government shutdown, his constituents were upset by it that they protested at his office, he claimed he was still justified because “I didn’t vote for the Affordable Care Act”. Instead he blamed it on, who else? The president. Apparently Barack Obama forgot he was supposed to follow Tim Walberg’s mandate.
- Walberg quoted Joseph Stalin in March 2012 to say America’s collapse is imminent because the Affordable Care Act supports contraception, and that undermines the nation’s “spiritual life.” Which makes me ask two questions… first, why in the hell would a member of the GOP, who claim half of what Democrats do is socialism, quote Joseph Stalin? And two… why in the hell is Joseph Stalin’s expertise on government have a bearing on birth control? I’m pretty sure he wasn’t on the pill, man.
- Rep. Walberg also takes pride in the fact that he sleeps in his Congressional office to avoid paying rent in Washington. This resulted in an investigation into whether or not this violates House rules, as many of the Tea Party freshmen in 2010 got into the habit of following Walberg’s lead.
- In March 2013, Walberg would end up voting against the Violence Against Women Act. He then conduct a radio interview in Michigan where he lied and claimed he supported the legislation he voted against, after the fact.
- In June 2013, when the Supreme Court ruling on Prop 8 came down, regarding gay marriage, Walberg had the very calm response of, “society itself is at risk and cannot continue”.
- In February 2014, Walberg tried accusing Democrats of using discussion on renewing the Violence Against Women Act as a smoke-screen because they didn’t want to talk about Obamacare. Well, yeah. That was passed like four years earlier. It survived being repealed like 50 times. We endured a government shutdown because of it. At what point are we allowed to move on to other things, Congressman?
- Rep. Walberg was allowed to comment on the House floor on abortion in January 2014. You would expect, of course, that a former pastor would be against it. You’d be right. But what you might not expect, was he took his allotted time for debate to just read scripture, and interpret it as he saw fit as “the thoughts of God himself”. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that’s about the most theocratic thing I’ve seen in awhile.
- In June 2014, he went on a rant that a variety of things were actually “slavery”. Among the things Americans had become “slaves” to?
FOOTBALL AND PORN.
Running on an anti-porn and anti-football stance… that is about as insane as it gets for anyone in American politics, I’m thinking. Yet, somehow he’s a Congressman. Don’t ask me how.

So, see? "Not the same thing."
ugh....
The only thing worse than your typical intolerant Republican is a typical intolerant holy roller Republican, and Tim Walberg is just the sort of nutcase who should worry rational people when he puts the Bible ahead of the Constitution. And being anti-football? Oh, he's a real prize!

Typical douchebag politician move. Real pious guy that Walberg. And, like most Republicans, he reads from the GOP/Tea Party hymnal, meaning he was against the ACA, against gay marriage, against women and against common sense with his Birther beliefs. I'd laugh at kooks like Walberg if they weren't running the country into the goddamn ground with their reprehensible antics.

Opinions may vary in quality.
My big article on Mariko Tamaki's Hulk & She-Hulk runs, discussing the good, bad, and its creation.
My second big article on She-Hulk, discussing Jason Aaron's focus on her in Avengers #20.
I "like" this quote from that piece:
While they completely gloss over the fact that Bundy's crew were actually ARMED and actually pointed guns at and threatened federal officers. Nevermind that Bundy didn't seem to "value" federal (and by extension, taxpayers') "property rights"Since when did anyone make Donald Sterling out to be a hero? And let’s not forget that George Zimmerman was found by a court of law to be the “good guy” in the Trayvon Martin incident. As for Cliven Bundy; sure he made some racist remarks, but that shouldn’t detract from the fact that he’s standing up to a bullying federal government that is vastly overreaching its authority. He should be a hero to anyone who values liberty and property rights.
But I "like" how writer then, unironically, follows that up with this:
Now, let’s contrast that with the two cases this author uses as examples of lynching: Trayvon Martin picked a fight with an armed man who lawfully used lethal force to defend himself. Not a lynching. Michael Brown attacked a police officer, even trying to grab the cop’s gun, and was shot to death. Also not a lynching.

A crew member from the Cops TV show was accidentally shot by one of the police he was filming. Apparently it was all a terrible mistake - they thought he was an unarmed black teenager.
