Honestly speaking? I think it would be a solid gesture of support... had it followed the Israeli government doing something on the scale of shifting it's policy on the people in (East)Jerusalem from "You may apply for citizenship, we may process the application at our leisure or shred it on a whim."* to "All residents of Israel's Indivisible Capital are citizens by default. Here are your new IDs, Arabic-language voting materials, the paperwork needed to opt out in the name of Arab Solidarity(tm) if you are dead set on that." Too bad Bibi is too busy lining his pockets and sucking up the the Barking Mad Right for him to make such a move.

(*: Mind you, I do call the lack of around-the-block lines at the applicable offices painfully shortsighted at best.)

Democrats are made up of various smaller coalitions that need to band together to have any electoral power. Tug too hard and their whole support system collapses.

I don't agree. However, my husband's theory is that the Democrats are sacrificing Al Frankin in order to improve their chances of getting rid of Roy Moore, one way or another. Basically they are making themselves the 'He who is without sin' so that they can cast the first stone at Moore and eventually at Trump.

The odds that you can get that party to do so is almost zero. Having an oversight mechanism that might reduce sexual misconduct is probably the best that can be made of this particular bad situation.
