In international news, while getting North Korea to stop playing with Nukes by any means possible is a good idea, I am uncomfortable about how China is doing it better than the U.S., well I'm not sure if they are doing it or not but they are making a good show of trying.

I want a government that is both respected and perhaps feared a little, not one that is bogged down in corruption, sex scandals, a merry-go-round of hirings and firings, all distractions while the world is watching an laughing at us, or feeling sorry for how pathetic we are.

China does have a much better and longer relationship with North Korea - even under the best of cases they will have more influence there than we can ever manage. And we are certainly not in the best of cases right now.

I doubt we can trust China. A stronger American Government would, at the, very least, have enough influence to keep an eye one the process and make sure that they don't screw over the rest of the world.

At the end of all this I think the GOP is going to have a lot to answer for. They've been so focused on the tax cut that they were willing to let Trump cause a lot of damage to our status in the eyes of the world, esp with our traditional allies like Great Britain, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Germany, etc. Even though Tillerson was a better choice for Secretary of State than a war hawk like Bolton, he still did a lot of damage to the State department staffing. Like a typical businessman, the only thing they know how to do is to cut employees to save on the bottom line.

We really wouldn’t. China owns that area of the world and North Korea has always viewed them as big brother. The Kim dynasty has snubbed the US before and will do so again. China was practically telegraphing that they would get involved if we interferes with North Korea. They like having the crazy guy everyone is afraid of under their jurisdiction.

This is just Kim’s big global debut. He got nukes to force people to take him seriously as a world leader and now that everyone needs to use kid gloves he can negotiate on more favorable grounds with China and the US. His dictatorship gains legitimacy and Trump and Xing get to look like the guys that put the lid on a nuclear threat with their portion of the world. All the bad guys win.

I'm no geopolitical animal, far from it, but I've always been of the opinion that the reason China continues propping up Kim Jong Un is because they don't want a unified Korea because it would almost certainly turn into a western style democracy under the auspices of the U.S. or the U.N., and that's the dead last thing China wants in their backyard.

Did you click on that link up there and read it? I bet you didn't. The case against the Democrats ceding economic policy to the Republicans is damning. There's no reason for their doing that, other than their own greed. The Clintons led the Democrats into globalism, but the Democrats were very willingly led.

Meanwhile, this is the other way that the Democrats have handed victory to the Republicans. But will they change their approach here? No, they will not. They will double down on it. They will become MORE SMUG as their losses pile up.

I am referring only to your blathering about 'identity politics'. The Dems have a lot of things they can be better on but they won't get better by not centering marginalized voices.

White voters went to the GOP for white supremacy. They chose white supremacy. Race and class are linked because race IS class in the States.I become very skeptical when someone begins telling me that the Dems 'abandoned the middle class by focusing on identity politics'.

    Well, that's ri-goddamn-diculous timing.
The Democrats did lose the White House and Congress, so if Republicans suck it reflects poorly on the opposition for failing to beat them.

The globalists, led by the Clintons, hosed the white working class, so the white working class turned on them. You see the results. Meanwhile, the Democrats have cheered, "Yay! We got a guy fired from his job because he said something that was politically incorrect!"

Who is going to win that fight? And why is it not obvious?

So the republicans sucked until 2010 then, partially, and didn't fully stop sucking until 2016?

And if by some miracle democrats retake the house and then get a candidate elected in 2020 or 2024, the republicans then suck again and the dems rule?

Politics are pretty simple then, I guess.

The argument that democrats failed the white middle class by responding to marginalized groups is dumb to me. But I mean, republicans also failed the middle class, and it was while simultaneously trying hard to marginalize other groups of people.

I also become very skeptical of people yelling about 'globalists' while arguing to recenter white voices.
