Kirsten Gillibrand, Bill De Blasio Call To Abolish ICE

“ICE’s time has come and gone,” the mayor said Friday. I'm all for that.
Even if the Progressive doesn't win, the Progressive positions are. I love that the Democratic party is being forced to go left. I'm sick of the old guard not willing to adjust to the way things are NOW, not how they used to be. Ocasio-Cortez is unabashed in abolishing ICE, and so many other Democrats are jumping on it also. Bernie needs to sign on. I get why he doesn't because he feels some weird loyalty to people who despise him, but hey, be like the others Mr. Sanders.

Democratic socialism -- whether that's what it's called or not -- will win for the Democrats.

Open borders will lose for them.

They're giving every indication that they'll do the stupid thing, by rejecting Democratic socialism and embracing open borders.

The Democrats are no longer about economic justice, but solely about promoting marginalized groups. This is what went wrong with the party. The white working class were giving them their middle finger when they voted for Trump.

The Progressive wing of the party absolutely needs to take over the Democrats from the bottom up. As the Religious Right and the other deplorables did for the Republicans. Candidates like Ocasio-Cortez are showing us the way.

Ah, no. That's what got the Republicans into trouble with the Tea Party which didn't make the Republican Party stronger, it only made it weaker and less decisive. There is enough room in the Democratic Party for everyone, as long as everyone is willing to work together. Attempts at political hostile takeovers only lead to animosity, division, confusion, and ultimately inaction.

I appreciate you being objective about this -- if there's going to be a debate about something as important as abortion then it should be based on the merits of the arguments involved, not on allegations about Sanger.

Personally, I believe in a woman's right to choose (i.e. I'm good with the status quo) and that has nothing to do with Sanger one way or the other.

I didn't say anything about lying, In response to the assertion that Superman didn't sympathize with racism, I stated that for some extremists he represented white racism.

According to some extremists, Superman is inherently racist because of his appearance of being a Straight White Male. That's because all SWMs in real life are also inherently racist; they just can't be otherwise.
And that's what the essay says. Superman the character may not be racist according to that author, but if he represents white privilege, then he still represents a form of racism. And this is an argument rooted in an extremism that's concerned not with acts of racism per se but with anything that even SEEMS to marginalize people of color.

Also, regarding the KKK meeting, Snopes conveniently leaves out that Sanger stated that she wanted to talk to similar groups and that that meeting created such in-roads. The politifact article on her Negro Project also conveniently omits the fact that Sanger was an avowed atheist and found believers in religion to be less intelligent. She stated blacks were most easily influenced "by religion". Hmm. Religious people are less intelligent...and blacks are most easily influenced by religion. Especially those "Rebellious" blacks. Nah! Definitely no OBVIOUS racist connotations there..
I note no links on these claims. How many sources do you have and what are they if I may be so bold?

If I go through your own postings, will I find you this literal about everything? Maybe not. Post 102208:

Why is the burden on liberals to be less annoying while conservatives are being encouraged to be more so?
Where have conservatives LITERALLY encouraged to be more annoying? And no fair using Trump: he was the same when he was a liberal.

I love how one of the parents claims that his heterosexual son was "bullied" by the pro-LGBT video. Did homosexuals stick his son's head in the toilet? Did they write "Breeder" in magic marker on his son's forehead? Did they hold his son down, pull his pants off and make him walk home without any pants? Unless this guy's son experienced one of these or something similar, he doesn't know what bullying is. So he was forced to watch an unpleasant video that maybe made him look in a mirror? Oh, boo-fucking-hoo.
Sounds like the people who worry about how SJWs are taking various media over when there are enough non-white/non-male leads to use a second hand in counting them.

2 and 3 go together. You really are terrified of Black Panther's success and Marvel stating they plan on having films with more diverse leads, huh. There will still be movies with straight white male leads.
I don't think Nazism and Communism are the same-- I disagree with Punished Fire's analysis, though it provoked a few ideas-- but I think some people are rather uncritical about Communism's similarities to Nazism.

If you don't believe my answers, why did you bother to ask?

But that upsets some white people and makes some black people (more)discontent! It is thus divisive race baiting by those who hate America!
