Since you love Cable, X-Sanction is the ideal Loeb comic for you (Cable fighting Rulk with the aid of moloids that regard him as "master"!). But do not attempt to read Ultimatum, seriously; or at least, don't buy it before reading it. His Hulk run, on the other hand, is in my opinion a ridiculously fun homage to the Bill Mantlo era. However, keep in mind that it got involved in a crossover with the other Hulk titles.

Off-topic: now that I think about it, have you read the Tischmann/Macan/Kordey run on Cable?

Hallelujah X-Sanction will be mine soon!

I have not read much from his first volume because the stuff that I read were very mediocre. My favorite Cable stuff is Cable&Deadpool, very excited for the omnibus! Recommended for everyone!

I think everybody should read Ultimatum (and Ultimates vol3) because those thing must be seen to be believed.
About Jim Lee: I absolutely respect his talent but there is a mean little hipster demon inside me who makes me dislike Lee's work or rather his style. Don't know why, he is a very-very skillfull artist, I just don't like how he draws the characters (maybe it's the 90's thing, I don't know, I also really hate Silvestri and Turner, more than Lee. Give me instead a Duncan Fegredo drawing any day!).

You MUST read that specific run. It comprehends issues 97-107 of the first volume and the Soldier X series. I won't tell you anything except that it's a Vertigo-esque take on the character, his determination to prevent his future from happening, his life as a soldier fighting for a cause and the religious aspect of the Askani society he comes from. Oh, and Igor Kordey does some of the best work in his career. Flawed as it is (sales killed it too early), it's the best Cable run nobody read. It has never been collected, but it's completely available on Marvel Unlimited. Seriously, read it now!

Just to tease you: the cover of issue 97.

Agree. His 90's style usually puts me off his books except in Hush, where his art style suited Loeb's crazy story. And despite all his flaws, Lee's pages were full of energy and force, which are absent from his current output.

I think that's because Scott Williams didn't ink those pages. They're almost joined at the hip.

His work is a huge turnoff to me, always has been. It just feels stiff and cold. Pretty much if he's on a book, I'm out.

It's that scritchy-scratchy style; I hate it too. They over-render yet the drawing still looks unfinished and sketchy. That said, Lee's Batman work is pretty decent.

Not just that, but it's a part of it. But maybe it's just his inker. There is a similar inking on Andy Kubert's drawings, I'm not a fan of that either (I saw an Andy Kubert Batman cover inked by Joe Kubert and that looked so much better).

It would be interesting to see Lee's art inked by someone with smooth lines, like Mark Farmer or someone like that. Though maybe the two styles won't go hand in hand?

I think All-Star Batman and Robin is his best work for sure. Hush is also really enjoyable but just a slight bit sloppier.

I have a nostalgic soft spot for his early X-Men work but those Batman projects above are probably his peak. His recent New 52 work has been pretty bad by his standards, with some of the pages being extremely rushed or unfinished and bad by any standard.
    Image Comics (TPB):
Saga, Southern Bastards, Injection, Descender, Deadly Class, Chew, Black Magick

    DC Rebirth (Digital):
The Flash, Batman, Green Lanterns, Aquaman
