DS9 easily had the most badass cast of any Star Trek series.

    Kira-a former 'resistance fighter.'

    O'Brien-a former war hero.

The science officer, Dax, loved to practice Klingon fighting styles.

The head of security was a superpowered alien.

Worf was well past his 'Worf Effect' years on TNG and was now 100% badass.

Even the doctor was a genetically engineered superman with enhanced strength and reflexes.

And of course, they were led by The Sisko.

    Also Morn was cool.

I voted for Odo since he was my fav from main cast but the Weyoun clones were my fav character from the show.

I often like to say that Star Trek was more or less my gateway drug to nerddom... and DS9 was always my favorite.

DS9 was on during those formative tween years for me. And honest truth? Jadzia Dax was my hero. I thought she was just plain awesome. She was smart, funny, capable of some serious ass-kicking, and really interesting to boot.

Grew up a Classic Trekkie, but DS9 was imho the best of Trek. ALL the characters were great.

While Sisko was a very close second, for me Odo beat him out by a hair. (I'm a sucker for fish-out-of-water characters.)
Parental care is way exhausting. Gained insight into what my parents went through when I was a baby. Not fun, but what ya gonna do? (Read comics, obviously.)

oh god! this is like the opposite of the voyager thread. it's hard to pick one from such a amazing crew of well developed characters.

but if i had to pick, i gotta go with sisko but by a very close call with everyone. sisko was a vast departure from all the captains before or after. for one, he didn't separate himself with his crew and tried to be closer to them, either with holo-suite activities or cooking for them.

he was a widowed, single father who actually dated.

he was hard but kind. intimidating but understanding. he followed the rules but knew when to bend them for the good of his crew and the mission.

he walked the line between starfleet officer and Messianic figure.

and then of course, he was a total badass and didn't really need to try to be.

really, i could gush over the entire cast, even vic hologram, but in the words of Sfdebris: he's called "the sisko". first name, "dont fuck with".
