Captain America - Bucky Barnes Orignial Death

Hey guys,

Does anyone know the original issue that Bucky Barnes dies in?

I know they do a recap in Avengers #4 (1964), but I was looking for the original.

That might be the original issue.

That Avengers issues was when Bucky was revealed to be dead. There was no prior comic before that.

Cap's comic was cancelled in the 40's, I think. There were some Cap comics in the 50's but it didn't last long and was cancelled too.

Then Stan began reviving some of the Golden Age superheroes like Namor, Human Torch (twice in fact, one with Johnny Storm then actually bringing back Jim Hammond) and Cap's turn was next. Stan didn't like side kick characters so he had Bucky 'revealed' to have died. There were no prior comics where Bucky is killed and Cap falls into the icy depths.

Later on, the 50's Cap and his Bucky would be revealed to be brainwashed and would go crazy because of course they would.
