    Did Siegel & Shuster turn down a chance for Superman to appear years before "Action Comics" #1? And did Denny O'Neil base Talia on a James Bond character?

    Insightful but not surprising. Siegel especially was pretty adamant for years that Superman was to be a newspaper daily. The initial years of comic books was a pretty iffy period of time. Even by 1938, Superman was still formatted as a daily.

    Just an example of a creator being determined to get his product into the public venue as they saw fit. But it does raise a good question, if Superman arrived a few years earlier, would he have had the same impact?
