    Default Great DC Short-Run Titles

What are some great (two years or less) "ongoing" comics from DC, that you'd still recommend heartily today?

I'd still push The Establishment on just about anyone looking for smart scifi or who'd have a laugh at British classic tv and pop culture riffs. Wonderfully drawn, intelligently presented, exciting, goofy, scary, serious fight and splode and think comics.

Tom Peyer's Hourman was a trip and a half.

And, Scare Tactics, the band (of monsters) on the run comic from Len Kaminski should have run forever. So much fun. Braver and sillier than it had any right to be at that time in DC Comics' history, it just crackled in all the right ways to get it canceled at the time.

Patsy Walker on TV! Patsy Walker in new comics! Patsy Walker in your brain! And Jessica Jones is the new Nancy! (Oh, and read the Comics Cube.)

I have to add to the Mosaic love here.

I'd also like to mention the first seven issues of Thriller.

Some of those aren't DC runs.

Agreed on Dial H(New52). Engine Head was great for what it was.

2 years or less damn looks like Morrison's Animal Man (26 issues) misses out by a few months.

Kevin Smith's Green Arrow "Quiver". Was that ongoing at the time?

    My fan fiction:

The Outstanding, a fan fic Universe where Marvel characters and stories are reshaped, revised and retold. Check it out!

The Ultimate Flash, where I take inspiration from classic Silver-Age Comics of Barry Allen and the new CW TV Show to give an old character a new spin! Click here to read!

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away the Marvel and Star Wars Universe combine! Check out Marvel: Star Wars' first family, the Fantastic Four! Read it here!

If you consider Simonson, Chaykin, and Co's Hawkgirl a separate series from Hawkman, despite no renumbering, it was a beautiful comic that was a lot smarter than it got credit for at the time, and had so much clear love and knowledge of comics put into its creation.

Both of those are ongoing titles, and both lasted years after those writers.

That said, I really do want to go back and reevaluate Smith's Arrow. I missed a lot of it, at the time, and I've only read bits and pieces since.
