Another very good episode. One of the best this season, in fact. Once again, the strong thematic focus elevates the series far beyond the past two seasons - and makes it stand out again as something other than a female version of the Flash. The bond between Alex and Kara has always been one of the show's greatest strengths so it's fantastic to see it explored here, while also being smartly mirrored in the Nia Nell (however you spell that) plot. I also love, incidentally, that this season hasn't focused on a single Big Bad but has a bunch of antagonists linked by the common xenophobia theme (Luthor will undoubtedly play into this too) with the Red Son Supergirl being teased out throughout the season and still being quite the mystery as to how she fits into all this.
I may have some quibbles (this many supporting characters means that we still aren't getting as much Melissa Benoist as I would like) but as I grow more and more bored by the Flash, Supergirl has really come into its own this season - certainly as a CW show (season 1 is still completely different to what came next).

Is it just me who thinks that the new Nal daughter is primed to be the show's White Witch?

Good episode, allthough the death of Nia's mom was a little forced.
Also, anybody else immidiately recognized the guy who played Nia's dad? He was also Justin Claybourne on Arrow^^

I'm having problems with all the aliens. First there was just Kal, then a few were around, now there are villages that existed for decades with intermarriage. I guess the writers can't keep this straight.
I really don't need social issues dominated superhero shows, I know enough about it and am concerned with real world politics concerned with such. I need the escapism and not preaching in genre shows - Meh. Fast forward is your friend.
Poor Earth, Kryptonians and Daxamites landing all the time. A planet full of super powerful Martians next door that can get in a convertible and drive over. All kinds of superpowered aliens landing and settling in.
Kara and Kal aren't so special anymore.

I said this in the X-Men MCU Hopes thread and it applies here this show wants to use Aliens as a metaphor for immigrants and refugees but there is a massive flaw in that when you use Mutants, Inhumans, Metas, or Super Powered Aliens and that's they actually are a real threat its not just fear and prejudice there are real dangers to unchecked superpowers. It's a nice metaphor to teach kids tolerance for those who are different but falls apart if you really examine it.
