Default Brian Griffin from Family Guy and Snoopy of Peanuts switch places

Either they switch bodies or switch places. Neither they nor anyone in their orbit realizes or remembers that anything was any different. How does this effect things? What hilarity ensues???

Snoopy either gets Charlie Brown level depressed after having to live with a bunch of horrible, sadistic sociopaths like the Griffin family, or he somehow finds a way to escape the shitty Family Guy universe. Brian meanwhile is largely shunned for his obnoxious behavior. He won't even get the opportunity to talk with the adults since they all speak like foghorns.

So you are just going to sit in this field all night waiting to see a pumpkin? Were you dropped on your head at some point? Maybe that kid that can't figure out the girl is going to pull the football out of the way can sit here with you, he's a bit of a moron.

I think StupidMonikor has accurately summarized the outer limits of Brian's potential in the "Peanuts" universe.

I would imagine that once Brian joins the "Peanuts" universe he will lose his ability to speak to the humans around him in a meaningful way. this means the only purpose he would serve is to ridicule other characters in the "Peanuts"-verse for the benefit of the audience. that doesn't add very much IMO. Woodstock would definitely avoid Brian like the plague.

there won't be a lot of hilarity because the shows are based on really different forms of humor. the basis of the characters and jokes for each series are beyond reconciliation with the other.

Snoopy's whimsy imagination and flights-of-fancy that will be out of place in "Family Guy". Snoopy, by contrast, would be allowed to speak to the "Family Guy" cast. but he wouldn't have much meaningful to say other than "I hate you guys!" or "oh brother". as others have pointed out, Snoopy wouldn't really like anybody and would keep to himself. he would make repeated attempts to run away and would end up pretty miserable.

Snoopy and Brian are so profoundly different that neither one of them would actually make sense in their new setting. "Peanuts" never comes even close to the sort of demeaning dialogue and malicious scenarios that frequently show up in "Family Guy".
