Saitama (One Punch Man) Becomes Gotham's Newest Hero

It's happened... again. Batman's been killed, given up the cowl, been "broken", noone really knows what happened, but Bruce Wayne is Batman no more... For the next few months. So, with Batman gone, Gotham is looking for a new defender. Unfortunately, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Dick Grayson refuse to touch the cowl because they like where they are and don't want to deal with the problems of being "The Bat". And the rest of the hero population don't want to deal with Gotham's nonsense.

That leaves them with one option: Hire a temp until Bruce gets back. After a few calls, they get in touch with "The Hero Association" from another reality and line up a temporary hero to take over Gotham. That hero? Satama, AKA "Caped Baldy". Of course, his loyal disciple Genos, AKA "Demon Cyborg" tags along.

So now the city of Gotham has a new hero/sidekick duo protecting it. What happens, and is Gotham more or less safe with Caped Baldy as it's guardian?

And what happens when Saitama takes over Batman's duties with the Justice League?

Everyone becomes bald.

Because when everyone sees what a deadbeatt Saitama really is, and realizes that he's only a "hero" to pass the time?

They'll be pulling their hair out.

Also, Gotham won't have any villains left. Because all of them die, horribly, with ONE PUNCH.

Gotham also becomes less safe. To the point where its less safe than, oh, Skull Island?

Because every time Genos decides to let loose for a bit, city blocks go up in smoke. Literally.

They also go bald from pulling their hair out.

Eh, Saitama generally doesn't kill normal humans, so only the likes of Clayface or Killer Croc are gonna be likely to face more than a concussion. And unless Genos is a much better detective than he's shown thus far, they probably won't even know that things are going down until most of the city is Jokerized/enslaved by Poison Ivy/killed off by R'as Al Ghul/blown up by a frustrated Riddler/etc...

Yeah, while Saitama and Genos could beat the piss out of any foe that Gotham throws at them in a straight fight, they are horribly unsuited to the kind of detective work that makes Batman so effective.

This is not a good fit.
