Which version of Bane? Because at least one has Kryptonian level stats due to nanomachines, or something.
Other than that, Composite Aragorn might have it, assuming the games have some good feats/spells. Anyone remember what kind of skills he had in LOTR:The Third Age?
If Composite Aragorn includes the flying horse created by the Black Knight and later owned by Valkyrie, he has a significant advantage over baseline Bane in strength and maneuverability.
*checks MERP stats for Aragorn*
Okay, Aragorn blasts open a pit under Bane's feet and then repeteadly zaps him with energy blasts.
Are you sure? He's using Channelling, with Base spell lists, Closed spell lists, and the Ranger lists if I recall correctly.
Book not on me at the moment - what's he using for the zapping?
I suppose he could just whale on him with his flaming sword, but it's only really magically dangerous against orcs or undead, depending... Hmmm.
Yes, we are hardcore nerding things up now... :)

Ten Open Channeling lists to 10 level, after the War of the Ring. This would presumably include Sound/Light Ways from the 2nd edition rulebook, which has Shock Bolt I (electric beam, essentially) as a 7th level spell, with a 100 feet range. And since this is MERP, land of silly critical hits, a headshot may result in instantaneous death.
And since Aragorn has 180 power points, that means that he can zap Bane 20+ times and have spare magic for odds and ends, without touching whatever other versions of the character provide.
Sound/Light ways. Forgot they actually get that kind of thing.
Ugh. Shock Bolt. He's going B-Crit Bane to death. Talk about a painfully long process, barring a roll of 66 or 91+.
Well-played, sir. Well-played.

To be fair, the OP never specified which Bane.
I dunno how much Is like Composite Aragorn's chances against, for instance, Durin's Bane.
I just assumed DC Bane. I suppose it could be other Bane's like Forgotten Realms deity Bane, Darth Bane, Cad Bane, etc.
