What is Tommy Tomorrow's real name ?

In the New 52, a new version of Tommy Tomorrow appeared in Threshold. Though, they called him T'om T'morra there.

Isn't he a version of Kamandi? Or Kamandi himself? I seem to remember someone speculating also that he might be Rip Hunter back around 52.

They tied him into Kamandi right around CoIE. (Maybe even in the final issue of CoIE?)
