slowly getting into Podcasts and would like to know some of your faves mostly into comics movies both old and new and like quirky news stories etc as well

I used to listen to a lot of them then I went all music for a while.
Now I only listen to a few:
Idle Thumbs - this hilarious podcast is about video games and more specifically PC games, mostly. They go on tangents all of the time. They are loaded with memes, even if they actively try to avoid them. I have laughed out loud more than once while listening to them.
Blue Peg, Pink Peg - this podcast is about board games. Two couples review a board game and then talk about aspects of gaming. It's engaging and funny. The two husbands both come from an improv background so they are really comfortable behind their mikes.
The Dice Tower - This is also about board games and is the defacto board games podcast.
