Default Tomb Raider Next / "unified" Lara Croft design

    https://www.polygon.com/24073332/tom...design-artwork

Basically the more 'realistic' look of Survivor Lara it seems, but with her original clothes (Aquamarine tank top and shorts) and the return of the twin pistols instead of the Pick Axe and bow Survivor had (Lara briefly used the two pistols briefly at the end of the first game but that's it at least in broad gameplay terms, might have been in the gameplay modifiers).

The game is supposed to have a generally 'unified' continuity I guess. I'm not entirely that familiar with TR beyond the Survivor trilogy so I'm not sure how that would work.

Kind of interesting to see how this works out. Archaeology adventure games-wise, Naughty Dog-despite what they said after 2017-doesn't seem that interested in continuing/rebooting Uncharted outside of maybe continuing the movies, instead pretty much going full steam ahead on Last of Us due to the show. There's Bethesda's new Indiana Jones game (Which may come out for PS5 after all given Xbox's current issues) although it's still early days on that and generally with a few exceptions Indy games have been very hit and miss (In part because some of what they've done is already done in TR and Uncharted!).

In both the Survivor Trilogy and the earlier Crystal Dynamics games I tend to swap Lara's outfit around as I feel like it anyway, so I don't really care what her cannon look is supposed to be, but it's nice that they are going with tradition I suppose.

I plan to play the Remasters soon, though apparently the tank controls are really hard and the updated controls are inaccurate. But I'm someone who actually enjoyed Shadow and played it to completion (including all challenge tombs), so my patience might be slightly higher than most. Or maybe I'll get frustrated too.

I'm glad to see the pistols back.

Glad to see Lara going more back to her roots. Although the classic suit does look a touch off with her more modern proportions, still, it's no deal breaker. I just hope they turn down the brutal traumatizing moments. I wasn't too fond of their torture porn take on "survival."

Feels like a smart idea - don’t sacrifice the investment people got out of any of the continuities, and try to combine them into likely just a straight forward adventure with a veteran heroine.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP
