Also, having some non mutant supporters would be nice. Like during the Claremont years with Stevie Hunter and the like.
That's one thing about Bendis' run (probably earlier than that too but it's the last place I saw it) that could do with some revitalizing. The X-Men books are fast becoming the ONLY place where mutant-human relationships are worn thin enough to become outright violence. And I don't know how to fix that. To put less emphasis on the hate and fear would downplay the theme of hate and fear that X-Men books go for in the first place. But to make the outside books more hateful/fearful would takeaway a lot of fun from books like Ms Marvel and Squirrel Girl, where most people would presume them to be mutants but don't act kn it in any way.

    Tsk.
So Bendis gives one last desperate heave of the ball at the end of his mediocre run and Lemire basically slaps it down with a hard reject. I like him already.

Captain, in Order to build a better world, sometimes means tearing the old one down... And that makes enemies.

It should be. Creative uses of telekinesis would provide incredible sensations beyond mortal ken. Couple that with telepathic linkages and . . . split that atom!

More seriously, this sounds like a Teen Jean I might actually like. And Fokken's posts about overcoming suffocating cynicism are win. Kudos to you, fellow Illyana Rasputin fan!

Me and mine have already amassed TWO practically-new-barely-used cinnamon splendor candles to light up during our prayer circle for those lost in the gorge. Mandy Moore has generously donated her 2001 chart topper "CRY" --so appropriate-- to be played when we lower the wagon filled with Capri Sun juice packs and Archer Farms trail mix.

This too shall pass, Canyonnites, so stay warm and quit bringing us down with your bourgeois hang ups.

I really hope the Inhumans are facing the same issues as mutants seeing as there is absolutely no way for the average person to differentiate between the two races. Mutants vs Inhumans doesn't really make sense. There should be a kind of unity to the public with some unsightly infighting behind closed doors that the two sides should only be able to really see. There shouldn't be public outcry over mutants but acceptance towards the Inhumans. It doesn't make sense at all, unless they start DNA scanning people and then branding a "M" on peoples faces. How can they be so sure he's a "mutie", or Jean for that matter. "You're one of 'them'". One of who?! Mutant, Inhuman, Neo, random alien?! How the @$%# do they know? They shouldn't. Plot hole?

It really would have made more sense for the mutants to exiled to their own pocket dimension/copy of earth where they are the only "powered" beings or subspecies on the planet. Might have been interesting... Wholly insulting, but interesting.

On another note, the whole "sterilization" of mutants is nonsense. The vast majority of mutants are born to normal human parents. If they had to rely on reproduction within their own ranks, it'd literally take dozens or hundreds of generations to see the amount of mutants we do. Impossible for the numbers during the height of Magneto's Genosha. If the mist blocks the effects of the X-gene in humans, mutants would cease to exist within a generation or so.

Realistically speaking about fictional matters. | Nutcases need not respond. | Stay outta my DMs. | Why does the "House of Ideas" keep duplicating characters?! | If an idea or belief cannot stand up to criticism it's probably... bad.

You beat me to it, thanks. Perhaps the only thing that worked about the Sublime travesty was the irrational and often suicidal fear and hatred it caused humans to have for mutants.
