Right, but I remember watching the reruns of I Spy on WOR around 1970-71.

I Spy was also a favorite show.
I doubt I could listen to him and laugh now.
I also loved him on The Electric Company, The Bill Cosby Show (reruns), and Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids as a youngster.

It's not easy to differentiate between the two sometimes, though.

Eh...career-wise Richard started sooner like the early mid 60's, but he started out as a more mainstream comic and slowly added more edgy material into his act.

Cheech & Chong didn't really use all that much hard profanity. They were mostly controversial because they made it look like it was fun to be a stoner when everyone else was trying to claim how dangerous marijuana was.

    About those comedy albums...

It's worth noting that many of them came out at a time when a workable home video market was in it's infancy. Audio was the only format for most adult(or not) comedy.

Infancy? Home video was scifi when those albums came out
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Marijuana back in the '70s had such a far greater stigma attached to it than it does today. It's really not comparable. Asking my parents to see Up in Smoke would have been almost like asking for their permission to see Debbie Does Dallas.

It shouldn't surprise any of us when celebrities, who've spent years and sacrificed so much to reach the narrow pinnacle on which adoration of their persona by others yields disproportionate financial rewards, turn out to actually be rather hideous people.

To me, eating steak at anything less than well done is absolutely abhorrent.

I like meat cooked and not raw, too, but well done sometimes makes the meat taste like shoe leather. That's why I pick medium instead.

I used to feel that way, but I started to sway around 15 years ago and now I love it rare.
