Default Controversial Opinions (For Everything Other Than DC Comics)

'Cause the DC Comics one got silly with non-DC stuff, let's have one here, yeah?

Right then. To start us off...

Metal is not dead! Metal lives! And not just old bands or old singers, there's good new stuff, too. Sebastian Bach still knocks **** over with his voice, and Huntress is hard as hell tempered in the fury of the devil (cue metal scream yyyeeeaaaaaaaah!). It's still a thing, still strong, just not as popular at the moment.

And, my other, more general controversial offering is this: It's okeh if people disagree with you. Doesn't make them horrible. Doesn't make you wrong, right, or more right because people disagreeing proves they're idiots and you must be right. Just means you and they disagree.
Patsy Walker on TV! Patsy Walker in new comics! Patsy Walker in your brain! And Jessica Jones is the new Nancy! (Oh, and read the Comics Cube.)

Night of the Living Bore! Zombies bore the hell out of me. Zombie books, comics, movies, and shows--ONE COLOSSAL BORE. And folks who are fanatical about/obsessed with zombies are a walking/talking freaking bore too. Ha.

    2001: A Space Odyssey is a pile of ****.
If a movie has no interesting characters, a computer planning to kill everyone just like that, 50+ minutes of silence and slow activity, and ending that looks like someone high wrote and built up....

Su-Metal: "NOOOOOOO! Lemmy have big WART on face!"

Moametal: "Hee, Su-metal have big black mole on face, too! Just had removed!"

To remain controversial, Motorhead just never tripped my trigger. Too much "fast=good" and Lemmy sings like he's been gargling with gravel. I was much happier with AC/DC and Judas Priest.

I mostly like the film, but I'm with you on the ending.

Even though I probably like classic Metallica more, when it came to writing catchy melodies and hooks, Dave Mustaine was probably a little bit better than Hetfield and Ulrich.

Has much as I like Carol Danvers, I really don't see this supposed "big push" to make her "Marvel's Wonder Woman" coming from Marvel as a corporation ( movie announcement non-withstanding). I think a lot of that talk is wishful thinking among fans. All Marvel as a company has done is relaunch her series a couple of times and feature her in a couple of Avengers titles, which isn't anything more than they've done for Black Widow and She-Hulk.

Now sure KSD was pushing the character and there's lots of enthusiastic fans on the interwebs, but Marvel as a company? If they were really pushing her they'd do what they've done for other titles...go on television, press releases to non-comics media etc

I'm more excited about the next episode of around a dozen, dozen and a half TV shows than I am the new Star Wars films. I think the movie will be OK, it may have some "oh neat" moments, and if I went to see it in the theater (which I won't) I'd imagine I'd enjoy the experience but be underwhelmed. Or about as whelmed as I'm expecting to be. And I'm fine with that. And I say this as someone who grew up a big Star Wars nerd. Read a ton of the DH comics, read more novels (including the YA Solo children ones at my local library), watched all of the movies an embarrassing number of times, but for whatever reason I see the promos and think, "meh, it'll be on Netflix/Redbox in a year or two".

Kiss are my equivalent of that. A so-called 'classic' band that I just cannot see what all the fuss is about. Another kid in my school that I HATED was a huge Kiss fan and that affected my opinion of them. But even as a 40+ (only just) bloke I just can't get into them.

I can live without Black Sabbath also. Heavy Metal Heresy!!

EDIT - Oh, and I always thought that Ratt were a much better band than Motley Crue.

~ I don't care very much for Star Wars nor Star Trek.

The super-nerds for both are distasteful man-children. Also, Fantasy geeks are even more pathetic if that's possible. I imagine basements from floor to ceiling of crammed bookcases of $500 statues of huge breasted females carrying huge battle-axes. While dust caked spaceships hanging off the ceiling held up by fishing wire sway gently in the breeze above their heads.

Keyboards that smell suspiciously of Cheetos & sticky stains of Mountain Dew covering the tabletop. Lots & lots of XXL black t-shirts with Darth Maul adorning them already well-stretched to maximum capacity. Every xbox 360 in the house has a fist sized dent on the side of it.

~ Females with rainbow color like hair & beyond.

If your under 17 no problem. Or a professional musician (meaning a pop star), porn star, artist type or well paid code monkey would be acceptable. College students get a free pass until internship interviews. However, once you hit 18 & working somewhere in the mall I'm beginning to question your lifestyle choices. I'll just assume your immature or a deeply, deeply broken female. Actually, it's like a warning sign that signals that the "very crazy" lives here.

~ Men with a lot of guns.

I get it. I have firearms & like them too. I'm talking about the prepper types with entire basements packed with firearms, canned foods & diagrams for escaping into the secret mountain stronghold for when the end times come. You guys are mostly laughable until I hear your thoughts about squirrelling gold coins away, proper deployment of your 3-day bug-out bag & discovering who the "mud-people" are.

    Your politics are quite illuminating.

You are not alone here my man. And Megadeth is one of the most underrated bands of all time, in my humble, possibly controversial opinion.

People who cry about a woman's appearance are the worst. They want everyone else to judge them by the "merit" of their character (no matter how shitty they are) but won't extend that courtesy to anyone else. Also, they won't ever complain about how a man looks no matter how sloppy.

White liberals and conservatives may disagree on politics, but when it comes to police brutality they overwhelmingly sound the same.

I don't see that at all, conservatives are going out of their way to keep responsibility from the Police in any of these deaths and assaults.Tthe liberals iIhave seen are saying something different.
