This is by no means the end of the story and we'll see whether the House Dems want to play hard-ball with the information in the report. We'll likely see more investigations into people close to Trump over the next year.

Because he's an authoritarian ******* who uses populism.

People like to rag on Meagan McCain and say that she's terrible and is ruining The View, but she doing exactly what she's getting paid to do which is create drama so that people talk about the show the next morning. In that sense she's good for the show.

John McCain is why he was famous, having that whole POW thing going on amongst other things. What has Meg here done that gives anywhere near such an endorsement of her mettle?

Her father was a war hero and good Senator.

You are just Jeb Bushing her, and even he had more qualifications.

And you must be watching a different version of The View.

What had Hilary Clinton done to be worthy of being a senator in a state she didn't even live in before being annointed one for New York?

Riding the coattails of a more talented and famous relative is quite normal in American politics. You can even see that it goes back to the early days of the country when John Quincy Adams rode the coattails of his father John Adams to the presidency.

She's got name recognition. Sometimes that's enough.

We needed a shot of The Hard Left in our politics after years of The Tea Party. Nonetheless, The Hard Left's desire for ideological purity has them on a path to be a Mirror Universe version of The Tea Party.

McCain also had political contacts before he ran for office. He was on the path to the Admiralty like his father was until he was given an assignment escorting politicians and got interested in changing careers. Both of those things give insider connections.

Anyone taking that seat would have gotten a spotlight on them, doubly so when you consider who Hilary was. As a resident of the state when she ran, many of us considered her a carpetbagger. But, after she was elected she at least made sure to visit every county in the state once a year, something the current governor isn't able to do. According to a friend I have who still lives there, Cuomo hasn't been been to that area since the Dannemora prison escape, where he contaminated a crime scene for a photo op. Just like his father, Andrew is the governor of New York City, and the rest of the state can be damned.

I think the problem isn't that progressives are too pure, it's that the establishment democrats seem to want them to sit down and fall in line.

I personally suggest that those who are truly progressive fight for their cause as fervently as they can, and that they don't sit out the process if they don't happen to get exactly what they wanted. That does more harm to their professed goals than any 'establishment corporatist' ever could.

There is some exceptionally goofy reasoning happening here.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is currently serving as a Congresswoman, and she is easily less qualified than the woman we are talking about.

One thing the new hard left is unquestionably right about: we need to take a chainsaw to the Dark Moneytree until it's nothing but Dark Money Splinters.
