I like frosting...but sometime in the past lets say 5 years or so, the ratio has gotten insane and it's like 50% cake/50% frosting. Frosting is good but to much frosting is the worst.

Ha! Absolutely right. Although I can actually listen to a Deftones album and even enjoy a few songs. Mainly because their music isn't that much "in your face" nu-metal..

On reflection, maybe the Deftones weren't the best example to give. Although I dislike them myself, they do seem to enjoy a greater level of respect than any of the other 'nu-metal' bands. Substitute them for (shudder) Papa Roach.

Another "controversial" opinion: Captain America: Civil War is EXTREMELY overrated. I found it to be an OK movie. Cool moments? Sure, but when you see the whole product it is just OK. Really not a big deal.

I've seen this opinion being aired more and more on sites like this. I actually think that (with the possible exception of 'The Winter Soldier') it's the best MCU movie yet. I only got round to watching it over the Christmas period.

I'm sorry to hear that. Like in any other walk of life metal fans are, in general, decent and well-intentioned people. You only need one group of dickheads to spoil it for everyone though.

I know it is not every metal fan. But my personal experiences cause me to be super cautious around them.
My experiences are with very violent, white supremacist metal fans.
Before my husband, this was my experience. So, I know it is not all metal fans.
But if I am around a group of them by myself, I am nervous.

Growing up in the 80s there was a lot of overlap with punks and Metalheads who liked Iron Maiden, Metallica, Anthrax, etc. They were both pretty much the same, they hated the hairbands and poppy stuff.
