90+% of everything is crap. You have to look to find the good stuff.

Unfortunately that is correct. Finding good current rocks groups of today is sometimes tedious. There isn't a radio station near me that plays modern rock but 3 that play classic rock.

Yes. I've heard that said of metal, punk, and rock and roll in general--even country, bluegrass and folk music!

Of course. They're all controversial opinions. Except bluegrass...

Jack Kirby was an extremely talented writer but his art was terrible.

I think women help spread toxic masculinity. I tend to see women throw rocks and hide their hands in this regards.

    Stanley Kubrick was a hack.
Any semi-competent director can make a great movie if he gets 50+ takes for every scene.

    Anyways, I'm a fan.
I've only watched the 1st season and loved it. Are the novels even better?

I've recently started visiting online dating sites and what I learned there is the stuff of nightmares. Most women seem to go for a certain male ideal I've despised my whole life. Some even go for the ridicolous 50shades of grey stuff: the man is in control. I was hoping this stuff died with the 60s. Maybe its just online females. I hope so.

It's called having a kink and i fail to see how that's a bad thing.

Isn't that like the opposite of a hack? I always see a hack as someone who churns out work - usually at a rapid pace - without taking the care to make sure it's good.

If you spent a really long time and produce a great work then that can't be hack work regardless of your actual level of talent.

As an aside, I once read an interview with Alan Grant where he described himself as a hack - precisely for this reason. He churned out work quite rapidly and didn't put his heart and soul into it. Luckily for him, he's a talented writer, so he still produced good work.

Being not an actual word in the English language (well, not one with this meaning anyway), more than one definition exists.

No, they can't. That is a complete misunderstanding of Kubrick and directors in general.

Kubrick's reputation as a cinematic genius is well deserved.

If you can watch 2001, Dr Strangelove, Clockwork Orange, Paths of Glory... and not see that, I feel bad for you.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
