Fluff is a licensed product. Some times a company will allow its product to be used in conjunction with another product but this doesn't happen a whole lot. Fluff basically, is a marshmallow spread. Except for the flavored varieties, it tastes like marshmallow. It's easier and cheaper to put out a marshmallow flavored item than it is getting permission to use the Fluff name.

Now, if you're talking about marshmallow in general, that's another issue.

Marshmallow still doesn't seem to have the penetration into the sweets market that other stuff has. It's in hot chocolate, kid's cereal, Peeps, and Mallow Cups, and...., Well, I'm drawing a blank after that. Not a big deal for me, who isn't a fan, but I can understand people who like it lamenting the lack. It's like what I remember trying to find white chocolate outside of foreign made stuff. It's not easy to find.

White chocolate is how I determine whether or not any so called gourmet candy store gets any of my money. I look at the ingredients of their white chocolate, and if I don't see cocoa butter on the list, my money goes elsewhere. If you can't get the basics right, I can't trust anything else you produce.

It's in Moon Pies as well.

Precisely. I get that S’mores basically has it covered, but it seems like untapped potential. Same thing with graham cracker while we are on the subject.

You could always try to market a product that combines marshmallow, graham cracker, and prunes . . .

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Is that the secret? I remember trying one of these and was very disappointed. It was so dry.

Maybe that’s a controversial opinion … moon pies suck.

Marshmallows are awesome, though. Grew up putting them on a stick I found lying on the ground, toasting them over a campfire … awesome. My mom couldn’t keep them in the cupboard (unless she bought the small multi-colored ones).

Yes, makes them soft and warm.

I knew something slipped my mind, but, like SnoBalls, Moon Pies tend to be on the snack cakes/boxed pastry section rather than with candy, even if to a kid they are pretty much the same thing. Candy and snack cakes, that is.

For marshmallow candies there are Mallow Cups and Rocky Road bars. The first being basically Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups with marshmallow instead of peanut butter and the second being a chocolate-covered bar of marshmallow with cashew bits on top. Both are scrumptious and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.

Graham crackers don't need to be part of some composite product. They make a perfectly fine snack straight out of the box. (But putting ice cream on top is way better, of course.)
