Eat your steak however you like it (medium to medium well for me) but what I hate is the waiter saying, "the chef suggests you have it rare".

I often tell the waiter to do what the chef thinks best. They don't all have the same view of what's best for a steak, different touches are fun.

When I make my own, it's medim-rare to medium

When I was a kid, I used to Oscar Madison any meat that didn't have gravy on it. I can still eat it that way, too, but I rarely use ketchup anymore, except for fries.

I can't stand what some people call gravy, call me crazy. A bit of Ketchup mixed with Tartar sauce for a good fish, fries, a hamburger, just too many things benefit from a bit of ketchup.
