Post Crisis opened by establishing Steve was in his 60s and pushed them not having any romantic interest in eachother. Plus after the Perez run he didn't actually appear again for a good fifteen years because since he no longer had a connection to Diana, he was relegated to minor cast member.

I kind of liked how the DCAU handled it...giving Diana and Steve romantic moments against the backdrop of the war, then giving it a tragic note by having him be an older man when she returned to the present. That way there was no disconnect. Originally Posted by Fuzzy Mittens

Would you guys want to see Steve stay alive? I mean in JL Diana says nothing about Steve coming back. Wouldn't she have more than one picture of Steve after he comes back from the death?
