Wilson on the relationship:
https://www.oregonlive.com/books/ind...calls_you.htmlOne of the intrinsic parts of the Wonder Woman story is that, just because of who she is, a lot of classic superhero tropes get flipped on their head," Wilson said. "I think most superheroes, or most male superheroes, have a love interest that they're gonna have to save at one point or another, and probably at many points. In her case, it just happens to be a guy. I think this really seeps into the way that I portray their relationship, that Steve is kind of used to it at this point. He's been in this position before and he's really just trying to make sure, because he knows how powerful Wonder Woman is, that when he gets in trouble, she doesn't come in with -- I would say guns blazing, but she doesn't use guns -- with lasso blazing and make the mess even bigger.

If ten years of recording The Young and the Restless for my mother have taught me anything, it's that characters in serial dramas are always happily in love...until they're not

I agree it would be good for the narrative, as long as it isn't made into an excuse to drive them apart or to make Steve some sort of embodiment of "fragile/toxic masculinity".
Just, you know, normalm frustration from being kidnapped and held at gun/sword/laser/spell/tentacle-point. No unnecessary digressions about feeling belittled or similar stuff.
