Oh, I hate how procedural cop shows so often, almost formulaically, have the team bring in the first suspect(s) and grill them viciously, accusing them of all sorts of BS, only for the third-act reveal to uncover the actual perp, and yet how they treated all those people they treated like utter crap in the first 2/3rds of every damn episode never comes back to bite them in the ass. (Granted, there's often some behavior on the part of the people they are falsely accusing and sometimes even falsely arresting to justify their bad treatment, but that in itself is sketchy victim-blaming, as if anyone who is even *suspected* of a crime somehow is a crummy person who totally deserves however the cops mistreat them).

From when phones were land lines - someone would start to make a call to a unique place, like a business in another city, and could dial the number from memory the way you would dial a parent or close friend.

I do remember a few episodes of Law and Order: SVU where Stabler was called on the carpet for being too brutal with a suspect and even getting suspended a time or two.
Watching television is not an activity.

How many innocent people did District Attorney Burger and Lt. Tragg send to the gas chamber? You know all the ones they arrested and convicted that didn't have Perry Mason for a lawyer?
Because it seems they never tried a guilty person.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

It bugs me that prosecutors like that are considered "tough on crime" when every falsely convicted innocent also means they've let the actual perpetrator go.

Admittedly this bothers me most in the Ace Attorney video games where some of the leaps of logic required to get the obviously innocent person convicted are particularly bad.

I hate when the big bad villain wants to make a show of his power but rather then kill the main character who can stop him he kills random Red shirt that no one gives a crap about and his biggest role was to get main character coffee.

And why does anyone work for a creep like that?

I cant see why anyone works for the super villains. Like the Joker who has killed just as many of his henchmen as cops. At least with Two Face and his flip of the coin you have a 50 50 shot. Which is more than you get with most big bads.

And at a Spectre meeting in a Bond film, why would you sit in a chair?

I can definitely understand why henchmen would want to work for Eartha Kitt's and Julie Newmar's version of Catwoman.
Black Panther - Champion of Bast
    Vixen - Champion of Anansi

Blofeld also killed henchmen standing up with poison shoes (Kronsteen) with a retractable bridge over a Pirahna pool (Brandt) and just being shot (Osato)

probably been mentioned, but...the hero will kill red shirts left and right and center like there's no tomorrow...but will come up with a bs reason to let the main villain live.

Also...villains who torture or even kill their own lackeys. Even if the villain has the power of a god all sentient creatures have limits, why tf would he test that? Skeletor (literally all incarnations actually) should have been rebelled against repeatedly.

How many movies have there been where the hero kills 20 paid by the hour guards just to get to the big bad drop his gun and say "Im not like you."
